Scotty Pippen Jr. to play for Vanderbilt

Scotty Pippen, the son of Basketball Corridor of Famer Scottie Pippen, has signed a letter of intent to play for Vanderbilt, the college introduced.

“We’re extraordinarily excited so as to add Scotty to our Commodore basketball household,” new coach Jerry Stackhouse mentioned, partly, in an announcement. “Scotty is a dynamic level guard who has the power and poise to make an instantaneous influence on our roster.”

A 6-foot level guard, from Sierra Canyon Excessive College in California, Pippen is rated a three-star prospect, in keeping with 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

He averaged 16.Three factors, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per sport in 2018-19 for Sierra Canyon, which went 32-Three en path to capturing a state title. Final season on the Nike EYBL circuit, he averaged factors, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 23 video games for the Oakland Troopers.

Scottie Pippen spent 17 seasons within the NBA, profitable six NBA titles with the Bulls and enjoying in seven All-Star Video games. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Corridor of Fame in 2010.

The youthful Pippen initially dedicated to Vanderbilt in January, when Bryce Drew was the coach. Drew was fired March 22 after Vanderbilt went 9-23, ending the season with 20 consecutive losses. Stackhouse, himself a former NBA All-Star and an All-American at North Carolina, was employed lower than two weeks later.
