UFC fight on a private island is apparently not far from reality.

During the interview with TMZ Sports, President of the UFC Dana White said he was “another day or two” from closing the deal for a private island which he could fight amid a coronavirus pandemic.

In such a scenario, fighters will come to the island on a private flight where they will be far more isolated than if the fighting took place in other cities or locations.

While White said he was on the verge of securing a private island, it would be months before a real fight could take place at that location.

The next UFC event is April 18, and White said he has a secret location for UFC 249 on that date which will hold fights every week for the next two months before the potential moves to the island. Fighters and personnel will be thoroughly tested by the medical team before entering the facility.

UFC was announced the complete card for the April 18 event, and that includes a fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.

It was originally supposed to be a clash between Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, but the latter was in Russia and unable to leave due to travel restrictions on the spot during the pandemic.

“I understand everything and I’m definitely more upset than you to cancel the fight, maybe like everything else, I have a lot of plans after the fight, but I can’t control everything,” Nurmagomedov said on Instagram. post.

That he was in Russia when travel restrictions were imposed critics from Ferguson and Conor McGregor, but White said in an interview with TMZ that people should stop blaming Nurmagomedov for many situations beyond his control.
