Former Sun Devil Football recipient Brandon Aiyuk has been mocked by some as the first round of choice, but the latest updates relating to his health with the NFL Draft are only a few weeks away.
Aiyuk underwent core muscle surgery on Tuesday to correct the problems he faced with “the last few months,” the NFL Network Mike Garafolo reports.
As Garafolo pointed out, Aiyuk ran 4.50 at the end of February in the NFL Scouting Combine, despite a muscle injury. The importance of this problem is unclear, but Garafolo implies that Aiyuk has planned to go ahead without surgery, at least for a while. Aiyuk decided to have it now because OTA was postponed or canceled due to coronavirus, Garafolo said.
Recipients were invited to the Senior Bowl but were marked with a red flag for medical reasons in January and did not participate. SunDevilSource.com reports that Aiyuk has a small hip problem. NFL network Tom Pelissero said it was Aiyuk’s crotch.
Aiyuk’s inventory draft has been helped by its explosion to the stage in 2019 but has experienced some consequences due to the unusual depth of this broad receiving class. Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III from Alabama along with the CeeDee Lamb project from Oklahoma will be taken before Aiyuk, but the Sun Devil who stood out from last season could be the next bait catcher from the board.
The transfer of junior colleges had a distance of 474 yards from Scrimmage to ASU in 2018 because now-wide Patriot N ‘Keal Harry carries a lot of load on the receiver. But in 2019, Aiyuk emerged as the No. 1 recipient of threats for Satan the Sun when he went on to receive 1,192 meters and eight goals in 12 games, often collecting many yards after capture.
Todd McShay from ESPN made the Aiyuk mock-draft as high as a total of 20 for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and recently listed it as one of the best playmakers in space in this concept class. Pro Football Focus projects Aiyuk as the first or second round choice.
