Sean Payton’s Instagram chat revealed: Rubbish talks with Tom Brady, becoming ‘Jordan’s coach,’ continued | Saint | Instant News

Ever wondered which one New Orleans Saints Offensive player, past or present, Sean Payton thinks he will make a good cornerback?

What about how he keeps wearing the latest Jordan Brand sneakers?

If you listen to Instagram live conversations Coach Saints has with Kay Adams NFL Network on Thursday, you get answers to these questions and more.

Payton presents a variety of topics during the chat with Adams – the first time he used the Instagram feature.

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton could have danced around sensitive topics, but instead he didn’t hold back.

While live video has disappeared from the NFL Instagram feed (which is the way Instagram works), the NFL Network does share a quick recap of the best moments of the revealing interview.

See some of Payton’s comments below.

Who is in charge of the Jordan sneakers?

Mike Thomas is one of our Jordan Brand representatives. He wears size 13, which is the same size shoes that I wear. We always kind of have a little agreement. If he gets a good touchdown pass or he plays well in the red zone, next week there will be a pair of 13 Jordan players … we have fun with him.

Become a ‘Jordan Coach’

Michael (Jordan) just built a course in Florida, and I had the opportunity to tour. He just finished a round and I’ve never met him. He said, “I will make you my first Jordan coach.” I kind of like “Huh?” Of course, two weeks later I got this e-mail. Yeah, so, this is Jumpman now.

The rules changed the New Orleans Saints who were fought to allow teams to challenge the penalty for interference intervening after one ineffective season …

Talk to Tom Brady’s trash

SP: I happened to pay attention to the practice of Tampa Bay in a middle school just two days ago. I am proud of the Tampa Bay park department for expelling Tom (Brady) from a recreation field.

KA: Are you sure you didn’t call, coach?

SP: Well … I’ve got it on speed dial. Yes, Tampa 1 Sunday. We want to calm the canon. That’s what I texted Tom. I said, “Hashtag, leave the canon alone.” We have known each other for years.

KA: What did he reply when you sent it?

SP: Oh, he laughed. He said ‘You are favorites. We are oppressed. ‘Blah blah blah.

Who are you going to call?

The Payton and Adams video conversation ends with a series of quick questions.

KA: Who will you contact if you need the fourth one on the golf cart?

SP: Tony Romo.

KA: Who will you contact if you need a lifeline on who wants to be a millionaire?

SP: If I could call two, it would be (Mickey) Loomis and (Drew) Brees. Maybe Mickey Loomis. If we talk about the lifeline here, I think Mickey will have the answer.

KA: Who would you call if you needed someone to win a rap battle against Eminem in an underground club.

SP: Terron Armstead. And I was there with him. Like, we will do it together.

KA: Who would you call if you needed someone to win a jump ball in the final zone – would you call (Michael Thomas) or Jimmy Graham in his prime Saints?

SP: You Are killing me. Look, I’ve seen Jimmy do it. And I know Mike can do it. I’m going to go with Mike at Jordans.

KA: Who would you call if you had to choose a defender to play on a wide receiver?

SP: Jason Sehorn is a great athlete for us at the Giants. (Marshon) Lattimore can do it, I just don’t know if he will make the transition in the right route all the time.

KA: Who will you contact if you have to choose an offensive player to line up at Cornerback?

SP: Well I have not seen Emmanuel (Sanders), but I know he gets a good change of direction. I think this person must have very, very good legs. In the right system, I think Lance Moore would be amazing. Devery Henderson has a very good speed, and Devery plays some running back. He is long. I want the length. So I live in Saints here with this answer – yes, I’ll go with Devery.

KA: Who will you contact if you want to skydive?

SP: This is Steve Gleason. Steve will be the only man who takes you to the plane and then assures you how nice it is and his face painted black. Halfway through the air, you would be like “Only Steve can make me do this.”

If the NFL game is played without fans this fall because of coronavirus restrictions, New Orleans Saints chalk coach Sean Payton rises as …
