MADRID (AP) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced Saturday that football leagues in Spain will be allowed to start again from 8 June.
While the top tier, La Liga, will be allowed to play since this date, has said it wants to continue playing on June 12. It is unclear when the first match will be held.
There hasn’t been a game at the top level because of the coronavirus crisis since March 12.
The team recently returned to training at club facilities, but with the players practicing individually.
Barcelona top the standings with a two point advantage over Real Madrid after 27 of 38 rounds.
