Is Cleveland Indians going to renew Shane Bieber’s contract, Mike Clevinger? Hey, hoynsie | Instant News

Hey, Hoynsie: Pitching has always been the most important for Indian organizations. Since it looks like they won’t re-sign Francisco Lindor’s shortstop, do you think they can sign both Mike Clevinger and Shane Bieber for the money they will spend on Lindor? – Jeff Kerze, Brownsville.

Hey Jeff: Clevinger and Bieber in February said they were willing to talk about extensions with Indians. That was before baseball and the world reversed the coronavirus pandemic. Now with MLB seeing huge losses even if a short season is played, I don’t think we will know what the approach owner Paul Dolan will do regarding extensions for Clevinger, Bieber or other Indian players until the end of this year.

As a reference point, Indians control Bieber until 2024 and Clevinger until 2022 without extending it.

The former Indian right hand man, Bartolo Colon.Ordinary Dealer

Hey, Hoynsie: Now that the Tribe has thrown a white towel, isn’t it best to sign Bartolo Colon and Manny Ramirez for entertainment? – Ned Davis, Willoughby Hills.

Hey, Ned: Are you talking about Bartolo and Manny doing a standing routine? Who is first, what is second?

If that’s not the case, what’s your point? How can a team give up when the season – making the season hope – hasn’t even started yet? I enjoyed watching Ramirez and Colon at its peak, but that was a couple of seasons and the last positive PED test.

Colon and Ramirez are 47 years old with Ramirez 48 years old on May 30. Colon’s last season in the big leagues was 2018 with Texas. Ramirez hasn’t played in the big league since 2011. Maybe Colon will join the team if this season is played, but Ramirez is having trouble finding a job at KBO (Korean Baseball Organization).
