Iga Swiatek earned second career title at Adelaide | Field level | Instant News

French Open champion Iga Swiatek of Poland needed just 62 minutes to overthrow second seed Belinda Bencic of Switzerland and claim the Adelaide International title in South Australia on Saturday.

This is the second career title for fifth seed Swiatek, 19, who won 6-2, 6-2. Swiatek has never lost a set in a single title and lost only 22 games in total in five games this week.

Swiatek, seeded fifth, gave up only six points on serve during the match and won 20 of the first 22 service points.

Bencic, 23, lost to 4-7 in the WTA final with that loss.

Swiatek will move up to the best career ranking No. 15 when the new world rankings are released on Monday.
