Robbie Williams said he was “tempted” to buy Blackpool Pleasure beach for himself.
The singer has moved his family to Switzerland in which he has shelled out £ 24 million on a beautiful villa, just months after he revealed his plans to move there in the midst of corona virus pandemic.
Admittedly, the Take That star thought it was the “mental” people who wanted to sell the place to him.
During Alan Carr’s Life A Beach podcast, he said: “Just 20 years later, the people who own Blackpool Pleasure Beach wanted to sell me Blackpool Pleasure Beach. How mental is that ?!”
He continued: “I was tempted [to buy it]. This is not ongoing, but I am happy to gather the faces of the consortium – and you [Alan] is one of them … “
Robbie has lots of fond memories of his time at Blackpool.
In the past, the singer relived his days camping at Rhyl and visited Blackpool for the day.
He said: “We will go camping in Rhyl or we will go that day to Blackpool.
“This is how my luck turned around: We got on the bus, Ryan Hall’s working men club, and they spent a day in Blackpool.
“We’ll go to Blackpool and look around, do whatever we do, then come back to Stoke-on-Trent and get on with our lives.”
Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been owned by the Thompson family since 1896.
A Pleasure Beach spokesperson told me Metro.co.uk: “Blackpool Pleasure Beach, wholly owned by the Thompson family” has no regrets “that Robbie Williams may have” misunderstood “that” something beautiful “like Pleasure Beach is available for purchase.
“With” View Beyond the Sea “from the pinnacle of The Big One, it’s no surprise he’s interested, but for now let us cheer you on as we reopen season 125 on April 12.”
It happened after Robbie and Ayda moved their children – Teddy, Charlton, Coco and Beau – to a village on Lake Geneva.
A source informed Sun : “De Genève Golf Club is very exclusive. You have to know the right person to even see it and that’s before even paying the big bucks.
“Robbie is a first class golfer and loves to be there. Robbie and his family are very happy. They love the pace of life here. They love the open spaces and the lake nearby.
“This neighborhood is used for wealthy residents and their privacy is highly respected.”
In September, Robbie shocked fans when he revealed he had been living “on a mountain” to escape the Covid-19 pandemic.
When asked that he lives at his home in Los Angeles or Malibu, he told BBC Radio 2, “No, I don’t. I’m somewhere in Switzerland up on a mountain.
“Well, I’m a little neurotic and I thought where could I put myself in a place that wouldn’t blow me? And I thought, I’m going to do Mont Blanc for 6 months … it’s really warm, it’s really fun. . “
