LAHORE: PML-N President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif has expressed empathy and concern for a woman injured in a shooting in India across the Control Line.
In his message on Saturday, Shahbaz warned India not to provoke war in the region at a time when the world must focus on providing assistance to the masses amid a raging pandemic. He said RSS jingoism extremism overwhelmed India through the BJP proxy.
He said India should not forget the jaw response by Pakistan on 27 February 2019. The world is struggling against a new corona virus while India is fighting against humanity, he said. Even when the Indian government must be busy helping people outside of any discrimination, it is consumed by racist prejudice and persuasion.
The PML-N President praised the courage and resilience of people living in the area near the Control Line. He expressed solidarity and sympathy with the woman injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz also stated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement that “the elite imposed lockdown”, calling it problematic on several levels. “In addition to avoiding responsibility for the decision, it shows the government is in chaos and the Prime Minister does not have the ability to carry out state affairs,” he added.
He also mourned the families left behind by Pakistani doctors abroad who gave their lives while serving on the front lines of the struggle against Covid-19. “Pakistan is proud of its sons and daughters who refuse to give up despite the great risks to their lives,” he said.
