Punjab ACE approved investigations of 37 politicians | Instant News

PM Imran Khan agrees to establish a ‘National Job Portal’ | Instant News

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan agreed Saturday to increase the number of recipients of the Ehsaas Kafalat program from 4.6 million to 7 million.

The decision was taken during a preparatory meeting chaired by the prime minister on the Ehsaas Kafaalat program, the PM office’s media wing said in a press release.

The meeting was attended by the PM’s Advisor for Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh (via videolink), the PM’s Special Assistant for Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar and other senior officials.

During the meeting, the prime minister said the government was fully focused on improving the economy. This aims to ensure the safety of citizens, the stability of economic activity and its improvement while still paying attention to the corona virus pandemic.

He observed that the Corona virus pandemic has burdened poor people and emphasized maximizing the improvement of the Ehsaas network.

The prime minister also directed that the Ehsaas Kafalat program be completed early.

Dr Sania assessed the meeting that worldwide, the problems for the weaker segments of society have multiplied due to the coronavirus pandemic. Various countries have announced economic packages for people’s welfare.

He said Pakistan was among the countries in the world that had successfully faced the pandemic. It has allocated an amount for additional financial support. International agencies and the international community appreciate the steps taken by the Pakistani government, he added.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah agreed to compensation for more than 2.2 million people affected by the rain | Instant News

KARACHI: The Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, in principle, has approved the disbursement of compensation to the communities affected by rain in 20 districts in the province, which have been declared as disaster-stricken areas, but the amount of this compensation will be decided by the local government. the provincial cabinet later.

He took this decision on Monday while chairing a meeting to assess the loss / damage caused by the recent heavy rains in the province. The meeting was attended by Main Secretary Mumtaz Shah, CM Special Assistant Haris Gazdar, Head of Planning & Development M Waseem, Main Secretary CM Sajid Jamal Abro, Senior Member of the Revenue Council (SMBR) Qazi Shahid Parvez, and Additional Finance Secretary.

SMBR Chief Minister Qazi Shahid Parvez said that the government had declared 20 districts in the province as disaster-hit districts, including the Karachi Division: South, West, East, Central, Korangi and Malir. Hyderabad Division: Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Jamshoro, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari and Dadu. Mirpurkhas Division: Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar Districts. Shaheed Benazirabad: Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar Districts.

CM was given a presentation by district on losses / damage in the 2020 rainy season. Overall 1,752 dehs, 2,297,108 people, 1,499,411 hectares of standing crops, 291,981 households, and 1,292,643 households were affected due to the recent heavy rains.

The torrential rains claimed 149 lives, injured 103 people, and killed 19,858 animals, including cows, buffalo, horses, goats, sheep and donkeys. CM calculated the total loss of Rs8 billion and stated that his government would compensate poor people affected all over Sindh to rehabilitate them. He discussed different rates for different losses and, in principle, agreed to cash out the amount but the matter would be put before the cabinet for final approval.

To ensure transparency, CM said that the amount will be given to affected people for categories such as death, injured, damaged houses and perished livestock and disbursement will be made via ATM card. He directed Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah to speak with Sindh Bank and draw up a detailed plan for issuing ATM cards for this purpose as early as possible.

Beneficiaries must have a CNIC card as this identity card will be verified from NADRA prior to compensation payment. Meanwhile, his party directed SMBR to verify the list of affected residents, houses, missing livestock, dead and injured victims to finalize the list of beneficiaries. Shah said that when cash will be transferred to affected people, they will receive SMS on their cell phones.

CM approved Link Road for Korangi | Instant News

KARACHI – The Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has decided to conduct the ground breaking of the 39 kilometer long Malir Expressway in the second week of November 2020 and also approved the construction of a Link Road for Korangi.

The decision was made on Thursday when he chaired a meeting to review projects launched in the Public Private Partners (PPP) mode in the CM Building.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Chairman of P&D Mohammad Waseem, Administrator Kwarachi Iftikhar Shahalwani, PSCM Sajid Jamal Abro, Commissioner Karachi Sohail Rajput, Finance Secretary Hassan Naqvi, Transportation Secretary Shariq Ahmed, Regional Government Secretary Najam Shah, Head of PPP Unit Khalid Syekh and other concerned. Malir Toll Road: The investment department notified the Prime Minister that the Permit Holder Agreement had been implemented.

Independent project auditors and engineers have been appointed. The agreement is being finalized and the bank starts approving financial closings. The Permit holder is currently involved in carrying out the detailed design.

The Malir Toll Road is a 39 km long road which will be built along the Malir River. It will be a four-track line and the original completion period is 36 months but the Chief Minister has directed the Investment department to complete it in two years. The project will have three flyovers and eight underground roads. The project will start at KPT Interchange, Qayyumabad and end at the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway near Kathore.

The Prime Minister allowed Investments to mobilize the engine and he will lay the foundation stone in the second week of next month, November 2020.

Jalan Sambungan Korangi: The Prime Minister also approved the construction of a 12 kilometer connection road for Korangi. The starting point of this walk is Creek Avenue, Korangi Causeway Intersection and will end at the PAF Airmen Golf Club.

The road alignment will be along the Korangi Causeway and the Malir River. This will be the new four-way Link to Korangi.

Mr Shah directs the P & D department to complete a geotechnical investigation and traffic survey and sends the same for collection in PPP mode or via ADP.

Wastewater Recycling Plant: Municipal Wastewater Recycling Plant in TP-1 aims to supply 50 MGD of recycled wastewater in two phases, 30 MGD in phase-I and 50 MGD combined in phase -II, at the Wastewater Treatment Plant Haroonabad for the SITE industrial area.

The private sector will be involved to take over the water supply to industry, carry out Operation & Maintenance, Up-gradation, replacement and construction of the necessary water supply infrastructure.

The Chief Minister is notified that the ADB Project advisor has completed the project setup and risk matrix. A committee has been formed to carry out safety and categorization exercises.

A special pipeline for water distribution to industry at the SITE will be installed.

The Chief Minister directs the PPP unit to accelerate the project and start work.

30 MGD Water Supply Project: The 30 MGD water supply project requires the establishment of a Special Bulk Water Transmission system from Dhabeji to Korangi Crossing, for an additional 30 MGD of water supply, of which 10 MGD will be given to the Dhabeji Industrial Estate and 20 MGD to the Southern District.

This includes the construction of a pipeline, a main rising pipeline, a pumping station and water reservoir in Dhabeji, a pipeline from Dhabeji to the Korangi Crossing and construction of a pumping station and filter factory in the Korangi Crossing Area, the meeting was informed.

The water will be distributed through the existing KW&SB and Canton Council networks.

Wastewater treatment:

CM was informed that KWS & B was interested in establishing a Wastewater Treatment Plant Project at TP-IV. The project includes the design, construction and management of 180 MGD primary and secondary processing plant facilities. ADB’s Public Private Partnership (OPPP) office is in the process of recruiting consultants to carry out a Project Feasibility Study.

The Asian Development Bank’s Public Private Partnership Office (OPPP) submitted a Statement of Interest to perform Transaction Advisory Services for Project TP-4. Hearing this, the Chief Minister said that the project had received approval at the 30th PPP Policy Board meeting to perform advisory services. He directed the Investment Department to streamline consulting services so that they can be started.

Jamila Pumping Station: This project requires the rehabilitation, upgrading and operation of the existing Jamila Pumping Station, including the adjacent infrastructure.

The Jamila Sewage Pump Station was originally built in 1885 and although the facility’s efficiency has diminished and the infrastructure is in a dilapidated state, the plant is still operating today.

New pumping and sewer stations are needed to meet current and future needs.

Transaction advisory services are required for comprehensive feasibility studies and master plans for the facility, to determine a suitable project structure and to provide assistance during the bidding process until the financial closure of the transaction.

The Chief Minister directs KWSB to present the project at the PPP Policy Agency so that project implementation can be approved in PPP Mode.
