30 April 2020: Saudia Cargo sets a cargo record by carrying 65.3 tons of perishable goods to the lower deck of the B777 passenger plane from Lahore, Pakistan to Riyadh. Perishable foods such as meat and vegetables arrived in the Kingdom on April 25.

Saudia Cargo has expanded its freight fleet since March 23 by using the Saudi Arabian Airlines passenger aircraft as an all-cargo flight.

Commenting on Saudia Cargo’s cargo record and commitment to serving the community amid the pandemic CEO Omar Hariri said, “Saudia Cargo is committed to serving our customers and in less than a week after the airline flew passenger fleets due to the Covid-19 crisis, many of the planes returned to air as a cargo flight only. With reduced cargo capacity, it is more important than ever to maximize the available cargo space to be able to serve important food needs, personal protective equipment (PPE), medical and pharmaceutical supplies. “

Saudia Cargo has expanded its transport capacity with more than 35 weekly flights operated only as passenger aircraft, enabling air cargo carriers to serve the Kingdom’s needs for important food, medical, and other supplies during this global health crisis.

The continuation of its operations also ensures a seamless link in transporting important supplies between East and West in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
