Jammu: Pakistani forces on Sunday targeted forward posts and villages along the Control Line (LoC) in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, a defense spokesman said.
The latest violation of the ceasefire by Pakistan occurred in the Balakot sector in the Poonch district and the Manjakote sector in the Rajouri district, he said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, he said.
“Around 9:00 pm, Pakistan began violating a ceasefire that was not provoked by firing small weapons and firing mortars along the LoC in the Balakote sector. Then Pakistan also targeted the Manjakote sector,” the spokesman said.
He said the Indian army responded appropriately.
