Latest truce violation by Pakistan in the Kirni sector comes almost 12 hours of shooting and great shootings nearby Balakote and Mendhar sector, which left residential homes completely damaged, they said.
A defense spokesman said Pakistani forces were forced to shoot with small arms and heavy shootings with mortars in the Kirni sector at 9.50 am, prompting an appropriate response by Indian Army.
The cross-border shootings continued when the latest report was received, he said, adding further details were awaited.
At 10:30 pm Saturday, Pakistani troops targeted the Balakote and Mendhar sectors in Poonch, the spokesman said.
A police official said a house belonging to Mohammad Sayeed was completely damaged, while several other buildings suffered minor damage in a shooting in Pakistan that lasted for more than half an hour.
“Great shootings and shootings took place in the Kirni and Qasba areas … there was panic among those who were advised to remain in underground bunkers,” he said.
