Southeast Louisiana at Nicholls, 4 p.m. ESPN +/ Cox Sports TV

Nicholls, No. 21 on Athlon Sports The FCS Power Poll, entered the season as Southland’s pre-season favorite but stumbled to a 4-2 start. Nicholls running back Lindsey Scott Jr., who is second at FCS in scoring with 22 goals, is a player to watch out for.

North Dakota State in Northern Iowa, At 5 o’clock in the afternoon ESPN +

It’s a typical match from Saturday’s blackboard, a match between the pre-season No. 1 and No. 3. North Iowa down to No. 13 after a 3-3 start, but the Panthers’ loss came by a combined 12 points. Both teams have excellent defenses and tough field play, so expect this one to be a slugfest with huge playoff implications.

Delaware in Delaware State, 6pm on ESPN2

Maybe you’re not familiar with Route 1 Rivalry. It could be because the Blue Chickens have won all nine matches, but this game still gets the main bill. The Hornets started 2-1 and will be fighting hard against the No. 7 in the division, led by dynamic senior defender and comeback Dejoun Lee.

Both Jackrabbits and Fighting Hawks (Athlon Team of the Week) face a ranking conference contender for the second week in a row to start the season. Can a North Dakota exploration of the ball defense slow down South Dakota State’s efficient offense?

Bison hasn’t lost since November 4, 2017, and Saluki will try to stop the hit. Even without NFL-bound quarterback Trey Lance, North Dakota State won 25-7 last week, while Southern Illinois was blown up the road by North Dakota and in danger of being knocked out of Athlon Sports. The FCS Daya Poll.

The Eagles, who were runners-up nationwide two years ago, opened their spring on the road to the Vandals. This ranking team match should have great implications in the Great Sky Conference, which is again one of the best in FCS.

Nicholls may be favorites at Southland, which opens the season this weekend, but the Lions and Bearkats are both serious contenders in the playoffs. The draw has come close in recent years, although Sam Houston has a chance to win his fourth straight game.

University Football Bowl game on TV Today (Friday, January 1) | Instant News

That college football season bowl celebrates the new year in extraordinary fashion with four bowl matches on Friday, January 1st. A major highlight is the University Football Playoffs as the top four teams in the country go head to head for the national title, but there are two other exciting games for the Peach Bowl and Citrus Bowl.

So if you are wondering “What college football bowl games are there today?“Know this: There are four scheduled for today, Friday, January 1.

Note: All times are ET.

University Football Bowl Game on TV Today

12pm on ESPN – Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta)

Why you should watch: Undefeated Bearcat brings Group 5 coats for this year’s bowl season, drawing the Bulldog in Atlanta. Cincinnati will get a chance to prove it is more worthy of playoff consideration but to do so will have to beat a Georgian side who have looked different since switching to USC transfer JT Daniels in midfield. Points may be hard to come by, however, with both teams displaying strong defenses.

13.00 at ABC – Camping World Stadium (Orlando, Fla.)

Why you should watch: Auburn is led by interim head coach Kevin Steele following Gus Malzahn’s sacking. The Tigers have hired former Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin, but he will only be watching as they take on Northwestern. The Wildcats held on to Ohio State in the Championship’s Top Ten Game through the fourth quarter but don’t expect Pat Fitzgerald’s team not to show up in Orlando. Auburn has more talent but fielded a few key players while Northwestern has always been well trained and usually plays fundamentally healthy football.

4:00 pm at ESPN – AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas)

Why you should watch: Notre Dame gets another chance to prove it at this stage and wants to redeem itself after being crushed by Clemson in the ACC Championship Game. Nothing has stopped this Alabama offense all season, so could the Irish slow down Crimson Tide enough to attract disappointment?

8 nights on ESPN – Mercedes-Benz Superdome (New Orleans)

Why you should watch: These two teams played classics in last season’s playoffs and everyone is well aware of the image of Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney at Ohio State. The Buckeyes flexed their muscles late in the Championship’s Top Ten Match on the back of running Trey Sermon but quarterback Justin Fields will have to bounce back if they are to beat the Tigers. Clemson avenged his only defeat of the season by beating Notre Dame to win another ACC title, but the Tigers are not without flaws and offensive coordinator Tony Elliott will miss this match because of the COVID-19 protocol. The State of Ohio has never beaten Clemson (0-4) and the Buckeyes know what to say of them if that doesn’t change on Friday night.
