KSRelief to distribute food bags worth $ 1 million among those in need | Instant News


ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center (KSRelief) has launched a distribution of food bags among decent families.

Under this project, a good bag worth $ 1 million (Rs166.1 million) will be distributed in collaboration with the Punjab government.

The Saudi Ambassador in Islamabad Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki launched a campaign to distribute more than 22,000 food bags in Pakistan. This campaign will benefit more than 130,000 people in 10 Punjab districts.

Food bags will be distributed door-to-door by KSrelief officials, 1122, the local government and Hayat Foundation to avoid gathering as a precaution to stay safe from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recipients will be chosen with the help of the Punjab government. Each bag contains 10kg flour, 5kg rice, 5 liter cooking oil, 5kg sugar, 2kg milk powder, 2kg basin, 2kg dates, 1kg black tea powder and half a kilogram.

Frontier Homeopathic Medical College volunteers distribute rations among the needy | Instant News


PESHAWAR: Medical College Frontier Homeopathic Medical (FHMC) has begun distributing ration packages to the poor and needy in villages located near the provincial capital.

A press release of 300 food packages has been distributed and donations collected to make and distribute another 200 during the holy month of Ramazan. FHMC students and staff voluntarily collect donations and make packages, identify eligible villages and families and arrange the distribution of food rations.

A press release said FHMC volunteers also gave Arsenic 30 as a preventative medicine to families who received food rations at their doorstep in the villages. He added that the principal of Madam Ain, Dr. Pervaiz, who was part of the FHMC outpatient department, Dr. Mudassir, Dr. Fakher Alam and Mr. Amin and Mr. Saad led the team of volunteers involved in the process. According to a press release, Sheharyar Khan manages financial operations. It is said Canadian youths from Pakistan who care for their homeland generously contribute and raise money for the purchase of food rations. The college also thanked retired General Ghulam Haider for its valuable finances for this noble cause. Describing FHMC volunteers as heroes, the press release said they also volunteered to take care of the needs of the victims during the 2005 earthquake and 2010 floods in Pakistan.

It was said that during the Swat operation in early 2009 when more than two million people were displaced due to militancy and military action, the FHMC was tasked with moving and distributing logistics worth more than one billion rupees. Recalled that the chief minister and chief secretary had recognized FHMC volunteer services.

Local organizations distribute food to those in need | Instant News


LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Local organizations distribute food today at the drive-thru site in Cajun Field.

UL Lafayette partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank and United Way of Acadiana to establish a drive-thru food distribution site in Cajun Field for people experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 outbreak.

“It’s amazing that they do this for families in need,” said one resident.

“Everyone knows that this COVID-19 experience is a different experience for all of us so we think about long-term assistance and needs so you will see today that people get food and things that they can bring home and cook,” Carlee Alm-Labar, president and CEO of the United Way of Acadiana, said.

Volunteers with the United Way of Acadiana wearing gloves and face masks loading food boxes into vehicles all in an effort to help those in need.

“We know this part of the disease is truly frightening, but the economic challenges that result are also. “We will have many people in our community for a while,” explained Alm-Labar.

Food that is not easy to rot along with products and fresh protein is available thanks to Second Harvest Food Bank.

“I have to thank our partners for just doing this extraordinary work, and we have so many volunteers and you see the best of people and how to encourage our community so we are very happy to have everyone out today,” Alm -Labar added.
