Jackson State’s Sanders team lost twice in a row following a 3-0 start, while Alabama A&M has only played its second game after losing much of the spring due to COVID-related delays. It has to be an excellent showdown of dynamic quarterback between SWAC’s Pre-Season Offensive Player of the Year Aqeel Glass and Jackson State double threat signal caller Jalon Jones.

Southeast Louisiana at Nicholls, 4 p.m. ESPN +/ Cox Sports TV

Nicholls, No. 21 on Athlon Sports The FCS Power Poll, entered the season as Southland’s pre-season favorite but stumbled to a 4-2 start. The Colonels will have a chance to bounce back against Southeastern Louisiana, which started the year at 11th but dropped to 23rd after a 3-1 start. Nicholls running back Lindsey Scott Jr., who is second at FCS in scoring with 22 goals, is a player to watch out for.

North Dakota State in Northern Iowa, At 5 o’clock in the afternoon ESPN +

It’s a typical match from Saturday’s blackboard, a match between the pre-season No. 1 and No. 3. North Iowa down to No. 13 after a 3-3 start, but the Panthers’ loss came by a combined 12 points. Both teams have excellent defenses and tough field play, so expect this one to be a slugfest with huge playoff implications.

Delaware in Delaware State, 6pm on ESPN2

Maybe you’re not familiar with Route 1 Rivalry. It could be because the Blue Chickens have won all nine matches, but this game still gets the main bill. The Hornets started 2-1 and will be fighting hard against the No. 7 in the division, led by dynamic senior defender and comeback Dejoun Lee.

Both Jackrabbits and Fighting Hawks (Athlon Team of the Week) face a ranking conference contender for the second week in a row to start the season. Can a North Dakota exploration of the ball defense slow down South Dakota State’s efficient offense?

Bison hasn’t lost since November 4, 2017, and Saluki will try to stop the hit. Even without NFL-bound quarterback Trey Lance, North Dakota State won 25-7 last week, while Southern Illinois was blown up the road by North Dakota and in danger of being knocked out of Athlon Sports. The FCS Daya Poll.

The Eagles, who were runners-up nationwide two years ago, opened their spring on the road to the Vandals. This ranking team match should have great implications in the Great Sky Conference, which is again one of the best in FCS.

Nicholls may be favorites at Southland, which opens the season this weekend, but the Lions and Bearkats are both serious contenders in the playoffs. The draw has come close in recent years, although Sam Houston has a chance to win his fourth straight game.

NFL Games on TV Today (Sunday, January 3) | Instant News

That NFL The regular season will finally end on Sunday, January 3, with 16 games Week 17. Even though there is no game where the winner makes his way to the playoffs and the loser is eliminated, there is still an impressive play. 11 games with huge playoff implications.

Eleven teams are competing for the final seven playoff spots, and the top seed – and the only goodbye – on NFC is still a hot battle between the Packers, Saints and Seahawks. NFC East will determine whether Washington can win or draw “Sunday Night Football“against Philadelphia, and by defeat, the Cowboys-Giants winners will be champions of shame.

Tennessee and Indianapolis both have a chance to win AFC South, but each can still make the playoffs as wild cards. They compete with the Browns, Ravens and Dolphins for four playoff spots. Meanwhile, the NFC wild card will drop to two places for Ram and Cardinal, who are playing each other, and the Bears.

So if you are wondering “What are the NFL games today?“Know this: There are 16 schedules for today, Sunday, January 3.

Note: Games are sorted by start time. All times are ET.

NFL Games on TV Today

Miami in Buffalo, 1pm on CBS

Miami hasn’t won at Buffalo since 2012 and won only four games there since 2004. But after recording nine wins in their last 11 games, they are playing their best football in decades. Without Ryan Fitzpatrick (COVID-19), the weight of the playoff push fell on the shoulders of rookie Tua Tagovailoa.

Baltimore in Cincinnati, 1pm on CBS

The Ravens are in the playoffs with a win, and they already stomped the Bengals 27-3 in Week 5. However, even without Joe Burrow, the Bengals won twice in a row and amassed 64 points in the process. This may not be a layup as it seems.

Pittsburgh in Cleveland, 1pm on CBS

While the Steelers could go from AFC’s No. 3 seed to No. 2 seed, they rested their starters because no byes were at stake. That’s a huge advantage for the Browns, who could claim their first playoff place since 2002 with a win. Watch out for the first encounter between Mason Rudolph and Myles Garrett after last year’s fight.

Minnesota in Detroit, 1pm on FOX

Only pride and draft order is at stake in this game, but at 6-9 and 5-10, respectively, the Vikings and the Lions can change who drafts first depending on who wins the game.

New York Jets in New England, 1pm on CBS

After starting 0-13, the Jets won twice in a row. That already locked them in second choice in the draft, but a win over the Patriots rivals will be the real cherry on top of their season. Could it save Adam Gase or Sam Darnold’s long-term prospects with the team?

Dallas in the New York Giants, 1pm on FOX

These teams will operate as if victory punches their ticket to the postseason. The winner will stare at “Sunday Night Football” and cheer louder for the Eagles than ever before.

Atlanta in Tampa Bay, 1pm on FOX

The Falcons have dropped four times in a row, and the Buccaneers have won three in a row, but no team has that much stakes today. Atlanta has been out of the playoff picture for a while, and Buc is locked in the top wild card spot. Expect to see a bit of Tom Brady in the second half, as in last week’s romp over Detroit.

Green Bay in Chicago, 4:25 pm on FOX

The Packers can grab the top seed on NFC with a win, but the Bears have a lot more to bet. They need a win at Soldier Field or a defeat to the Cardinals – or both games to end in a draw – to reach the postseason for the second time in three years.

Las Vegas in Denver, 4:25 pm on CBS

The Raiders have had bad luck in the regular season finals, having lost their last nine games, including four defeats to Denver. They won’t qualify for the postseason, but a win will break a three-year losing streak.

Jacksonville in Indianapolis, 4:25 pm on CBS

The Colts need help qualifying for the playoffs, but it all started with beating Jaguar at home. It has to be very doable, even though the Jags’ only win this year was in Week 1 against the Colts. Will the lightning strike twice?

Los Angeles Chargers in Kansas City, 4:25 pm on FOX

With the top seeds in the AFC wrapped up and nothing to play for – the Chiefs already have a record 14 regular season wins – Patrick Mahomes will be watching from the bench while Chad Henne gets his first start since 2014. On the other hand, Anthony Lynn may be coaching for his job.

Arizona in the Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 pm on CBS

Each team will grab a playoff place with a win, although the Rams can still make a playoff with a loss if the Bears lose too, and the Cardinals can go on to draw and the Bears lose. The midfielder’s play is unlikely to be evenly matched in this contest as Kyler Murray gets hit and Jared Goff exits with a broken thumb.

Seattle in San Francisco, 4:25 pm on FOX

The Seahawk have already snatched their first NFC West division title since 2016 – and the 49ers are out of the hunt – but San Francisco could still spoil their rivals’ chances of getting a first-round bye. Seattle won their previous fight on Week 8, but these teams have had successive wins in their last five fixtures.

New Orleans in Carolina, 4:25 pm on FOX

These NFC Southern rivals ended the regular season against each other for the third straight campaign. And for a third successive season, the Saints head into the playoffs while the Panthers have nothing but a draft positioning on the line. The Saints could still get the No. 1, with victories, Seahawks victories, and Packers defeats.

Tennessee in Houston, 4:25 pm on CBS

Win, and the Titans are AFC South champions for the first time since 2008. Lose, and it gets a little more complicated. These teams’ Week 6 matches are in extra time, so it will be another fun game.

Washington in Philadelphia, 8:20 pm on NBC (SNF)

Neither team is great, but this is the game of Week 17 with the highest playoff stakes. Washington could make its ticket to the postseason with a win – or a draw if the Dallas-New York tie is also tie – but lose. That’s a lot of pressure to finish Ron Rivera’s first season in the nation’s capital.
