The head of the British National Health Service turned down the actress Gwyneth Paltrowclaims about how to recover from the coronavirus.
“In the last few days I have seen Gwyneth Paltrow sadly suffering from the effects of Covid. We hope she gets well, but some of the solutions she recommends are not the solutions we recommend in the NHS,” Stephen Powis, NHS UK National Medical director, said, BBC. reported.
Paltrow wrote on his blog that he was suffering from the long-term effects of the coronavirus and that a “functional medicine practitioner” told him to participate in Program “intuitive fast” to feel better.
The program includes no meals until 11 o’clock each day, an infrared sauna, no sugar, no alcohol, and a plant-based and ketogenic diet.
“Everything I do feels good, like a gift to my body. I have energy, I work out in the morning, and I do the infrared sauna as often as possible, all for healing,” Paltrow wrote.
Powis said those with large social media platforms had a “responsibility” not to spread misinformation to their followers and that Paltrow’s solution to her health was “really not one we recommend.”

And with such marketing power, it made Victorian business struggles even more confusing.
The latest figures reveal that the Victoria Beckham fashion house has lost nearly £ 60 million over the past seven years.
And while the pandemic hasn’t helped, commentators say Victoria’s struggles lie in the fact that she hasn’t changed her popular image to one that can be associated with a normal woman.
Put simply, VB seems to be designing clothes for its own wardrobe, not a buyer’s wardrobe.
Fashion journalist Hilary Alexander said: “It’s part of the problem that the outfit appears to be designed to be worn by Victoria Beckham, who is somewhat exclusive to someone else.
“The design doesn’t fit the right kind of market.”
Another clue came at Paris Fashion Week, where sexy young designer Kim Jones – mentored by the late Alexander McQueen – presented his first collection of women’s clothing for Fendi.
Kate Moss, 47, for the first time joined on the catwalk by her daughter Lila, 18. Supermodel Naomi closed it.
Further evidence, it seems necessary, of the level of success still lingers on McQueen – who died 11 years ago – and his protégé Kim.
Victoria’s challenge was to join the ranks. She launched a huge frenzy in 2008 and with the backing of soccer star husband David, Beckham’s foray into high fashion emerged as a safe bet.
At the time, Victoria was heralded as a very promising fashionista, supported by Vogue editor Anna Wintour hard to impress, who championed her in magazine editorials.
Journalists called her debut a “very impressive and successful collection, with not a single outfit.”
Indeed, some of his first collections were both critically and commercially successful.
Since then there have been London fashion shows and partnerships with sports brands such as Reebok.
But financial success never followed. Victoria Beckham Holdings Limited, which owns the fashion business, reported a £ 2.5 million increase in sales to £ 38.3 million in 2019.
But it still lost money – largely because of the costs involved in launching Victoria Beckham Beauty.
Annual pre-tax losses for 2019 were £ 16.6 million, up £ 4 million in 2018. So far 2013, VBHL had an operating loss of £ 3.4 million. In 2014, it was £ 3.8 million, in 2015 it was £ 4.4 million and a year later it was £ 8.2 million.
And in 2017, the loss was £ 10.2 million. All of this apart from a number of injections of money to stay afloat. There have been reports of the Mayfair flagship store being empty, deserted, intimidating – like a museum.
Pricing is a problem. In November, fans refused to pay £ 515 for a VVB range sportswear.
One fan saw Instagram Victoria posts in gear and writes: “Have you ever gone out in a line the average person can afford?”
Another asked: “Couldn’t you design a more realistic price range for us commoners?”
A year earlier, Victoria made headlines for whipping a VB T-shirt for £ 390 per pop. The company’s financial woes may not diminish the mother of four’s personal appeal.
But he took criticism last April for 30 staff leave – when Beckham was worth a combined £ 335 million. There was a quick turnaround.
When Covid was hit hard, the company lost a fifth of its staff and reduced the number of annual collections it produced.
The auditor warns of “material uncertainty that could cast significant doubt on the company’s ability to continue as a going concern”.
The Board of Directors said it still needed shareholder support to survive. A spokesman for the VBHL did not comment.
But it’s not all bad news. The couple paid themselves £ 14.5 million in dividends last year – £ 39,726 per day.
David Beckham Ventures Limited, owned by the couple, manages the brand of the former Man United star, and partners with the likes of Adidas, Haig Club whiskey, and his stake in Inter Miami CF, the Major League Soccer team he co-founded.
DBVL revenue rose to £ 16.2 million. Allowing a £ 1m prize for Unicef, of which David is a goodwill ambassador, DBVL made £ 11.3 million in profit in 2019.
Impressive figure. And they can convince Victoria’s supporters that she, too, can still shape a successful future.
Tthis is a million of us like me, “knocked public enemy number one in 2000 as he led an army of clones with white shirts and a peroxide crew cutting through the streets of New York and to Radio City Music Hall, there to hijack the 2000 VMA Award. It was America’s worst conservative nightmare, an invasion of garbage trailer psychopaths coming to eradicate all moral values under their new boots and turn the nationally impressed young men into their war against modesty. And they are there to release their psychological neuroweapon to the world: Marshall Mathers LP.
When EminemMain label debut album in 1999 The Slim Shady LP hit No. 2 on the Billboard chart and sold 4 million copies, it sent shock waves not only through the hip-hop community – here, after all, is a white-eyed blue-eyed white boy utilizing black culture with excessive copious horror cartoon movies gangsta rap – but throughout America. Pinning his profile onto a proof board, it looks very burdensome. Under his slim personality alter-personality alias, Slim Shady, he made confessions about murder, rape, DUI and at least one very defamatory statement about Christina Aguilera. But the part that isn’t Slim Shady has its own problems. Background: Not Satisfied Michigan Dissatisfied; absent father, argumentative mother; history of drug, alcohol and solvent abuse; problematic marriages; and lawsuits against him from members of his own family. Self-proclaimed character traits: homophobia; misogyny; severe anger problems; psychopathic and sociopathic tendencies; revenge for fantasy; and the mentality of chronic victims. This little pouting punk is no doubt a threat to society.
From Billboard the magazine’s editorial for tabloid exposure about his troubled relationship with long-term girlfriend Kim Scott and Debbie Mathers’ mother, Marshall Mathers III, was verbally abused, but not demoralized. This resident of 8 Mile Trailer Park from Detroit – who became a hip-hop supervillain last night swore that the first album he would make with the eyes of the world on him would double in controversy, confrontation, violence and surprise tactics. This would state his case as a mirror of modern American haunts, reflecting the immorality of the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky infidelity and brutality Columbine High School Massacre, but free from responsibilities such as extreme fiction or sadistic innuendos. It will deliberately shake the mainstream of the most famous pop music and dolls, as well as anyone who takes Slim Shady and his explosions seriously. By allowing his sharp, jagged poetry to fly with unwavering honesty, he will prove himself a worthy impersonator of the hip-hop throne by making Marshall Mathers LP – a phenomenon of 20 million sales released 20 years ago today – an evil, challenging masterpiece designed to spark his criticism.

“If you think I’m a jerk, then I’ll show you a jerk,” he said Rotating of a record that would make it criticized in the US Senate and almost banned from Canada for hate crimes, but also became one of the fastest selling acts in the world. “If you call me a misogynist, I’m a misogynist. If you say I hate gay people, then I hate gay people … People start calling me bullshit, so I become whatever they say.”
“I feel as though Marshall is part of this wave Quentin Tarantino, Pulp fiction and Reservoir dogs, “Said Mike Elizondo, who played the keyboard and guitar on the album. “The next level of art with extraordinary graphic imagery so Marshall has the ability to paint. Like it or hate it, he is clearly very skilled in the story he tells. “
Even before Slim Shady began terrorizing America in earnest The Slim Shady LPEminem has made the follow-up more extreme. With Slim ShadyMathers had channeled the pent up anger and frustration of the years spent raising his daughter, Hailie, in his mother’s trailer with a minimum dishwashing salary into a mixture of hook-friendly rap gum and lyrics about self-mutilation, drugs, suicide , dating rape and murder on tracks like “My Name Is” and “Guilty Conscience”. In “97 Bonnie & Clyde,” he also dramatized a car trip with Hailie to dump Kim’s body in the lake; perhaps not surprisingly, the couple split up before the album was even released. So, between recordings The Slim Shady LP and releasing it in the world, a trip to the cinema in late 1998 inspired Mathers who were still single to write Kim’s love song.
“I don’t want to make a cliche love song,” he explained in his 2000 book Angry Blonde. “That must be nonsense … I don’t remember what the film was, but I remember feeling frustrated we broke up and had a daughter in the mix. I really wanted to pour out my heart, but I wanted to scream.”
Returning to the studio, he began writing the prequel for “9797 Bonnie & Clyde” called “Kim”. Recorded at one time with Eminem playing both himself and his victims, this “love song” replayed the story to detail his murder in graphic form and gruesome verses delivered almost entirely in screams and sobs, ending with a psychopathic scream “Bleed, bitch, “bleeding!” which seems to have come directly from the jaws of hell.
“The atmosphere I want to capture is the argument that I and he will have,” he wrote. “You never would have thought but I played it for him as soon as we started talking. I asked him to tell me what he thought of it. I remember my stupid words, ‘I know this is an f-ed-up song, but it shows how much I care about you. Even thinking about you this much. Even to put you in a song like this. “
“Kim” would be considered too extreme to enter the “clean” edition Marshall Mathers LP, but that definitely set the tone. And in the coming year his success, fame and wild child attitude will give Eminem even more frustration. When his fame exploded, he tried to hold back and avoid the paparazzi’s attention by staying in Detroit, but soon found himself receiving visits from strangers and moths of money in his spacious new home on Hayes Street – “everyone wants to come like I owe ‘” Something , “he said rap.
When not at home, he partyed, drank and fought to the point that he needed bodyguards to protect him from himself. “I always wake up. Life is like a big party for me. That was the first year I exploded and I did a lot of celebrations, “he wrote, and then elaborated in his 2008 autobiography, My way. “When I drink, I can be in a good mood – just love everyone and feel everything is fine – then someone will say the nonsense wrong to me, and before you realize it, there is nothing my guardian can do to stop me from. … punch, spit or kick several times before they can get to me. “
Such hedonism will ignite a “Drug Ballad”, an open love letter for alcohol, ecstasy, solvents, and prescription drugs; his addiction will peak around 2004 in the habit of 60 Valium and 30 Vicodin painkillers a day. But it is “Marshall Mathers”, perhaps the most revealing song personally from the song on its parent album, which will expose many of the problems that touched on Eminem the following year after Slim Shady’s first graphic killed a large scale.
Here, he devotes half the verse to a surprising homophobic attack on a clown-faced horror duo Insane Clown Posse (ICP) refers to the first main beef. Disagreement over Mathers print leaflets suggests ICP might make a guest appearance at the launch party for the start Slim Shady EP had increased until ICP escaped the Detroit club with Eminem and his crew painting their cars. He also targets Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and New Kids on the Block (“smoking a lot of dick / groups of guys / girls makes me sick”), revealing his discomfort with the mainstream company he kept himself.
“In the end he wants to be taken seriously as a rapper,” Elizondo said, “and with that popularity, he wants to make sure he distinguishes himself from the mainstream. Some of the lyrics where he made fun of celebrities and other artists of the era were strategic ways to make sure he didn’t see himself in the same crew. “
Of all the revelations in “Marshall Mathers,” family items were clearly cut off. As a teenager, Mathers had written several letters to his absent father who had all been returned without being opened. So when his stepbrother from his father’s family in LA reached out to him after his success, he was especially scathing about it in poetry. “Suddenly I got 90 cousins,” he said, “stepsisters and sisters who have never seen me / Or even bothered to call me until they saw me on TV”. And some of the most vicious lines of songs are reserved for his mother, who is in the process of suing him for $ 10 million after The Slim Shady LP, claiming lines like “my mother smokes more drugs than me” as libel.
Mathers said he was not surprised to be sued by the “lawsuit queen”. “That’s how he makes money,” he said, although after two years of litigation he only made about $ 1,600 after the attorney’s fees reduced his $ 25,000 settlement. But with detractors painting it as a misogynistic, hard, and homophobic poster child for the Columbine generation; his fans become annoying; and mainstream supporters like Will Smith criticizing him for his lyrical content at the MTV Awards, facing legal action from his own family would make him feel universally surrounded.
However, despite playing fantasy music murder, he also reunited with Kim and the couple married. So Eminem who worked with Mike Elizondo during intense, one-month stints in various LA studios, often during a 20-hour session in two recording rooms (“it was a mini factory,” Elizondo said) was as fun as he was haunted. “A few days he came and he was a fad,” he recalled, “very fun, making fun, a little roasting session with musicians and engineers. And then there were times when maybe something happened at home and it was a more difficult day and he just channel it. You will get the humorous side of Marshall and the more intense and serious side. He channels all the sides where he is in his life. “
His determination not to back down in the face of criticism is evident from the first traces that emerge from these sessions. Eminem uses “Kill You” to free Shady from his most obscene tantrums. When Shady drugged, kidnapped and killed a woman, raged with a machete and even raped her own mother, the track seemed designed to emphasize the ridiculous extremes of a vicious crime character and denial of denial that Shady was more than a slasher-flick fiction.
“The whole idea of this song is to say some of the worst things,” Eminem wrote Angry Blonde. “Just to tell people that I’m back. That I didn’t lose it. That I didn’t compromise anything and I haven’t changed. If anything … I get worse.”
Does he consider Slim Shady’s character when recording? “Not really,” said Elizondo. “There are so many artists – Bowie who created Ziggy Stardust, or even Prince – who created this alter ego to give them a license to go crazy and do something they might not normally do. There was never any discussion about ‘I performed this song as this character, that song as Eminem’. Every time he says something crazy, you realize that he is using Slim Shady’s character. “
How many Shady are there in him? Is he a provocative joke on the listener or is there real anger and brutality there? “I think Em all of those things,” said Elizondo. “There is a side to him that is very light and funny, but there is a part of him that is angry. He has ridden too much on what he hopes to achieve so he will not let anyone say anything negative about him without returning and returning cruelly, not only hurts them but really ends their careers. So there is temperament but he channels it in an artistic way rather than going to do anything that causes people to be physically hurt. He does it on record. “
Elizondo remembers the mentality of the session as “let’s aim to make a masterpiece” and “to prove that it was not a coincidence … There is a lot of hope to try to go beyond what he did on the first recording.” The key to that ambition is the arrival of passionate fictional fans. “I remember clearly he came and played this song Gwyneth Paltrow film Sliding door“Elizondo said,” and Marshall would go, “I have an idea to reuse this hook,” and it later became “Stan.” “
Tap “Stan”, which defiles a verse from MischiefSaccharine soul song “Thank You”, was sent to Eminem by producer The 45 King. “When I hear your picture on my wall,” I feel, “Yo, this might be about someone who takes me too seriously,” Eminem writes on RapGenius.com. He immediately envisioned a series of letters from increasingly crazy admirers, culminating in Stan killing his wife and killing himself in a copycat tribute to “’97 Bonnie & Clyde”. “Stan” will not only form the core of the atmosphere Marshall Mathers LP, with its unpleasant thunderstorm and cleverly planning various dramas and twists, its legendary protagonist will become a modern-day byword for obsessive fandom.
Not bad, considering Eminem was furious because a stone-stoned engineer accidentally removed the “better way” from a car accident scene. Although the track is improved by skipping proposals HalloweenThe last verse style. “There is a verse where [Stan] out of the water, “Eminem told SiriusXM radio.” He ran away and came to my house to kill me. Then I had to kill him first, [but] I missed him, and he was in the hospital for three weeks. Then he was upset because I didn’t write him a recovered card, so he came to kill me again, and in the last verse, finally, I just blew his head. “
Although “Stan” would eventually give Eminem number 1 in the UK, when he sent the album to Interscope his label did not feel he had the first single which was strong enough. They want other interesting surprises in the style of “My Name Is”, but Eminem instead put “The Way I Am”, a striking, challenging slur about fans, media and label intrusion, and rap murder as a catharsis for all that pressure. That includes some sharp lines directed to Interscope: “I’m not Mr. NSYNC … I wish I would die or get fired / And get off my label … I won’t be able to get the best. The name is'”. “[It] is the opposite of what they asked for, “Eminem wrote Angry Blonde. “I kind of rebelled against the label by telling them that they couldn’t force me to do something I didn’t want to do.”
Ironically, he can become the top “My Name Is”. “I remember Em coming to this point where he didn’t know that he had another song in him,” Elizondo said. “Everyone is looking for the first single, at this point, that’s the game. This album is finished, you think you’ve got the first single but let’s see if we can beat it, get something more catchy or hookier. Jimmy [Iovine, CEO of Interscope], urged, said, “We have two more weeks, let’s see what comes out of it.”
With only a few hours before the last deadline, they produced “The Real Slim Shady”, a setback to efervescent savagery, celeb-baiting from the previous album. In the middle of Will Smith’s dissing line, Tommy Lee and Christina Aguilera (Eminem suggests insecurity between Aguilera, TV host Carson Daly and Limp Bizkit Fred Durst, in retaliation for Aguilera announcing to the public the news that Mathers had married Kim), the song acted as an appeal to the Shady state. “Everyone is Slim Shady who lurks,” Eminem knocked, painting his demon alter alter as a universal free spirit, “proud to be out of mind and out of control”.
The world stands. “A portrait of antipathy psychopathology that is strong and awakens the mind,” wrote Independent. “Marshall Mathers LP is a record of car accidents: loud, wild, dangerous, uncontrollable, strange, disturbing, “wrote Rolling Stone. “It’s also impossible to pull your ears away.” “The Real Slim Shady” shot to number 1 in the UK and became the first top five US hit in April 2000. After that, Marshall Mathers LP is a phenomenon, topping charts all over the world. It was the first rap album to sell a million copies in the US in its first week and the second best-selling American album ever – although it certainly was a bit stinging that it was beaten, just a few months before, by NSYNC’s No Strings Attached.
“It was a perfect storm of controversy, humor and silliness,” Elizondo argued, but that also supported Eminem. Jazz musician Jacques Loussier will demand $ 10 million, claiming that the beat for “Kill You” is based on the song “Pulsion”. A relentless description of the same song about violence against women was quoted by Lynne Cheney at a US Senate hearing as a contribution to America’s culture of violence, and by Ontario attorney general Jim Flaherty as a hate crime when he tried to stop Eminem from entering Canada to play Toronto. SkyDome. The homophobia accusation of the LGBT + group led Eminem to display his gay friendly credentials with the duet “Stan” with Elton John at the 2001 Grammy award.
And, inevitably, dark supernovas like that have an evil effect. Mathers would admit in his autobiography that he “went through that phase when I was firing a gun in the air behind the studio and … pointing a gun at an asshole, pointing the gun at someone’s face. I didn’t even realize that I could go to jail for that shit. ” One person at the other end of the barrel was Insane Clown Posse’s colleague Douglas Dail, who was threatened by Mathers with a gun in a parking lot in Royal Oak, Michigan, on June 3, 2000; the next day he was arrested for allegedly whipping a man, John Guerra, whom he believed he saw kissing Kim outside the bar in Warren. Both incidents resulted in lengthy trial orders, and personal impact was even greater. Kim attempted suicide by cutting off her wrist on 7 July and the two officially separated in August, divorced the following year. Kim will also sue Mathers for defamation of “Kim”, settling out of court, although that will not mark the end of their on-off soap opera.
But in terms of proving himself, Marshall Mathers LP is a resonant victory. Uncompromising and innovative, its cinematic atmosphere and strong ambitions make it a benchmark of horror, regularly ranked among the best rap albums ever made. “There are many substances and many things that come out of his life,” said Elizondo. “From beginning to end, we don’t just try to have a great song on the radio, everyone involved wants to make sure that this recording is a masterpiece and takes every opportunity to perfect it. I still think it’s sonic and artistic resistant. That is a snippet from that music period and also that world period. “
