The government will not create any hurdles in the PDM long march: Sheikh Rashid
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the government would not create any obstacles in the long march of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) towards Islamabad.
The minister said they would be welcomed if they followed the law and the constitution. Speaking at an event held in Islamabad here on Sunday. The minister said, “I told the PDM that there would be no obstacle for them if they marched here within the sphere of the law.
They can come 10 times if they want, “he said, adding” we and Imran Khan sat in front of the Parliament for 126 days it was a tough job. He said that the same people who opposed the creation of Pakistan were creating chaos in the country and wanted to create political instability.
He said that he talked about feeding Halwa to the Chairman of Jamiat Ulama-i-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman but now the weather has changed so I will withdraw the offer. He said that the senate elections were held on March 3 and they were abusing the same chamber in which they asked for votes.
Whether the Senate elections are open or secret, he says that those who are ready to buy or sell their votes have no place in state politics. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and his father, Asif Ali Zardari understand my view.
He said that those who have obtained foreign citizenship must also lose their jobs. He said that the salaries of government employees had increased by 25%. He said Islamabad was not a thug city so 30 of the 33 checkpoints had been removed while the other 3 would be removed soon.
The Islamabad police are being made the model police, in the coming days he said that there are 237 parks in Islamabad and we will improve all of them. Rashid said the country had overcome the Coronavirus pandemic to some extent and paid praise for controlling the situation to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistani Army, who he said had waged “jihad against Covid-19”.
He said that the four soldiers who were martyred in a terrorist attack on a military checkpoint in South Waziristan on Thursday evening said they were giving their lives for Pakistan. “People who say bad words to Pak-Army must have their tongue plucked out,” he added. “India knows that when it comes to Pakistan’s borders, 200 million people will defend their homeland and it will also be a pride to give their lives.”
Sheikh Rashid said that media is completely free in Pakistan adding that I challenge that the strongest electronic media in the world does not exist in Britain and the United States as in Pakistan. Under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s prudent policies, economies are developing, he added.
