Karachi – Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing & Urban Planning, Religious Affairs, Forests and Wildlife, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that everything Pakistani People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said in his press conference was based on facts.
Addressing a press conference here with Chief Minister Sindh Murad Shah, Education Minister Saeed Ghani and other senior officials in the provincial government on Saturday, he said: “On one hand the prime minister spoke about the elites who enforced the lockdown. And then after a few hours, he praised his government’s decision to enforce lockouts on time and talked about the benefits of applying tight locks [his] double standard. “
The provincial Information Minister said that the PPP chairman not only spoke about Sindh but also for the whole country. He said that coronavirus is not only a matter of Sindh but also of the whole country.
Nasir said that business is not more important than human life. The Provincial Information Minister said that the only reason for the spread of coronavirus throughout the country was the inability of the federal government. “Because the federal minister is constantly misleading the people, we must respond to them,” he said. “From the beginning of the spread of coronavirus to the present, we have tried our best to save lives without wasting time with bullshit, but the federal minister and federal spokesman have always tried to shift our focus,” he said.
He said that Pakistani People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from day one, when the first coronavirus case appeared in the country, asked Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to cooperate with the Prime Minister.
The provincial Information Minister said that every time the federal ministers were asked about their performance, they would start talking about baseless things, and every time the Sindh government talked about their rights, they would start talking about the 18th amendment. He said that if anyone wanted to assess the seriousness of the federal government, it would be enough to test their seriousness that when the first coronavirus case appeared in the country on February 26, there was silence and until March 13 the Prime Minister only tweeted once over this serious problem.
Nasir said that the Federal government also did not take the initiative regarding the closure of the mosque during the closure. It was the Sindh government who first trusted the scholars and religious leaders and made a decision on this matter. The provincial information minister said that if the Federal government did not consider coronavirus a serious problem, then why was the country locked? why were train operations postponed so many times? Why is the air operation closed? He said that air and rail operations had not been stopped by the Sindh government.
He further questioned why the National Accountability Bureau did not investigate flour and sugar fraud. The provincial Information Minister said that although the union council in Islamabad was also sealed but no one said anything, but when the same process was carried out in Sindh, everyone began to criticize. He said that the 18th Amendment and National Finance Award had not been carried out in their true spirit.
Nasir said that the steps taken by the Sindh government regarding the lockdown were related to the NAB case without considering that whatever the Sindh government had decided, the opinion of medical experts was very important in all of that. The provincial information minister said, “they don’t understand our words before and never in the future either, but we will do everything possible to save people’s lives.”
“They did not realize that this crisis was a matter of life and death. They [the federal government] should be ashamed to talk about the 18th Amendment, “Ghani said, adding that the Prime Minister himself did not have a clue about what was held in the constitution. “The prime minister went to Punjab, KP and Balochistan but he did not come here. Maybe someone told him that if he came to Karachi, he would lose his job, “Ghani said.
He rejected the idea that the doctor who conducted a press conference in Karachi was affiliated with PPP.
“These doctors are asking the clerics, the government and people to act. Doctors everywhere say the same thing. Don’t listen to us but listen to the doctor. If the doctor stops working because of fear, what will you do? “Ghani concluded.
