That latest Xbox Insider program updates nixes the Xbox Live Gold requirement for Xbox free-to-play (F2P) games for users on the Xbox Insider Alpha & Alpha ring Skip Ahead. The changes will roll out to other Xbox Insider levels in the coming weeks, and hopefully, to everyone soon after.

We’re focused on games that are completely free to download – things you can play all (or most) without paying for. for a large amount of content. That said, while all the games on our list are free to download and play, most feature some form of in-game monetization, such as bonus characters, “Battle Passes” that unlock new cosmetic items as you level up, or – in some cases – loot boxes. which includes a random prize. However, this purchase is optional and not essential for game play.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a squad-based FPS battle royale set in the Titanfall universe. While most games in the Battle Royale genre start players off on an equal footing, Apex Legends includes a selection of unique heroes with special abilities, giving each player a slightly different ability in battle. Another multiplayer battle royale game, this time based on the hugely popular Call of Duty franchise. Unlike other Call of Duty games, War zone features 150 player matches in a large map that includes multiplayer arena elements from previous Call of Duty titles. Persistent is about taking huge beasts, known as “giants,” killing them, and turning them into armor and weapons that will help you face the bigger giants … rinse the blood and reset. It’s a simple concept, but repetition can be very addicting (as evidenced by its immense popularity Monster hunter series, that is Persistent cradle from).

We’ve covered some of the free-to-play battle royale games so far, but none of them are as popular Fortnite. The third-person shooter competitive mode is the most popular, but there are also creative and co-op modes to try … And digital concerts to see. How to Back Up Your Old PlayStation Games Locally (And Why You Should) | Instant News

Sony announced it discontinued online purchases for the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PSP later this year. The PS3 online store will close on July 2, 2021, while the Vita store will close on August 27, 2021. PSP games will also be removed for purchase from both consoles on July 2.

The announcement comes just months after the company removed all PS3, Vita, and PSP content from the PSN web store in October 2020.

Due to this change, you will not be able to purchase PS3, Vita, or PSP games, DLC, or digital media content at all following online shop closings. Even the PS4 or PS5 online stores won’t let you buy older PlayStation titles, apart from a selection of PS2 and PS3 games via the PS Now streaming service.

It’s really annoying to see Sony dumping legacy libraries like this, especially as Microsoft added backwards compatibility improvements that making old Xbox and PC games better than ever, and Nintendo continues to move its catalog of classics to the Switch (despite having digital its own preservation problem). It also highlights a big problem with dedicated digital game consoles. But the most pressing question is: What does this mean for the digital PS3, Vita, and PSP games you already own?

For the most part, you can still download and play digitally purchased games to your PS3, Vita, or PSP from the “Download List” in the Vita and PS3 PSN apps. You can also continue playing the physical copy of the game as you please – but you will no longer be able to purchase downloadable content from the PSN.

Now is the time to buy whatever digital content for the PS3, Vita, and PSP you’ve purchased – if you can find it, that’s all. Sony removed the wishlist feature from the PS Vita and PS3 when it removed old PlayStation games from the PSN web stores, making this notoriously elaborate storefront for this console even more difficult to use.

How to back up your old PSN games locally

You should also consider backing up all purchase your PSN locally, just in case something suddenly goes missing from your download list. The process differs between consoles and can take some time if you have a large digital library, but it will be worth it.

To be clear, downloading and storing all your old PSN games locally is not a must; Your PSP, Vita, and PS3 games will still appear on your PSN download list as long as they are available on PSN. That said, it would be a lot easier to copy locally stored content than to deal with the bad (or lack thereof) PSN store on the old PlayStation console. And going through the process now should give you no headaches after Sony cut off all PSN support for those old consoles in the future.

Buy a Home in an Italian Town for Less Than $ 2 | Instant News

After a year of canceled itineraries, you may be ready to go or get on a plane and go somewhere that is not your environment. And if you are thinking about something a little more permanent, you may be interested in the recent offer from the city of Laurenzana, which is located in Italy’s Basilicata region.

Like other villages full of abandoned – yet utterly beautiful – historic homes, Laurenzana has several on the market for € 1 (approx. $ 1.20). But unlike similar promotions, this one does not require a deposit. Here’s what you need to know about offers that seem too good to be true.

How to get a dilapidated house in Italy for $ 1.20

The usual way of working with this essentially free home in Italy (and elsewhere in Europe) is that in addition to € 1 (or whatever the original cost), the buyer must pay a guaranteed deposit. The deposit is typically between € 2,000 and € 5,000 (approx. $ 2,380 to $ 5,950), and comes with the provision that the new owner completes certain renovations within a certain timeframe. Then, after they had finished their work and restored their home, they got their savings back.

Mayor Laurenzana Michele Ungaro explain his strategy to CNN:

We want to help newcomers buy their dream home without making it difficult for them to follow tedious procedures and stringent requirements. Sometimes it can be difficult to navigate through the rules, especially if you are a foreigner. We want this adventure to be fun, not a burden. That’s why we don’t ask for any deposit guarantees to make sure the job gets done fast. Sounds like a threat. We rely on the good faith and commitment of the buyer, but we will continue to monitor work in progress and the status of renovations.

The process may be easier, but there are some requirements for a house in Laurenzana. As well as € 1, those wishing to buy one of these homes must also submit a proposal and a detailed renovation plan for the property. If their proposal is accepted, new homeowners must start repairing their premises within three months of purchasing them, and must be completed with a final rehabilitation project within three years.

If you are interested in buying a house in Laurenzana, email [email protected] for more information.

Don’t Store Food Outdoors, Even If You Lose Energy in Winter | Instant News

Illustration for article entitled Don't Store Food Outdoors Even If You Lose Charging During Winter

Photo: Berezovaya Nonna (Shutterstock)

Situations involving a loss of electricity are usually quite stressful. That’s because you often face not only a lack of power, but it usually occurs in the context of something else, like a major hurricane or natural disaster – like Extreme winter weather in Texas and many other parts of the country this week.

When a power cut occurs in the summer, it’s pretty clear that any food you have in the fridge or freezer won’t be safe for consumption in a relatively short time. But during winter, it’s okay to take perishable food outside – especially if there’s snow – and keep it there until the electricity returns, right? Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. But there is one thing you can do to take advantage of the cold to the advantage of your diet. Here’s what you need to know.

Do not store food outdoors

According to US Department of Agriculture’s Food Inspection and Safety Service (FSIS), it’s not safe to store frozen or chilled food outside – even if it’s cold and / or snowy outside.

There are several reasons for this, namely FSIS explained:

  1. Frozen foods can thaw if exposed to sunlight even when the temperature is very cold.
  2. Food stored in the refrigerator can become too warm, allowing food-borne bacteria to grow.
  3. The outside temperature can vary from hour to hour and outside temperature will not protect chilled and frozen food.
  4. Perishable items can be exposed to unsanitary conditions or animals. Animals may contain bacteria or disease; never eat food that comes in contact with animals.

What to do instead

If you really want to try to save some of your perishable food, instead of putting it outside, FSIS suggests taking advantage of the cold by making ice.

“Fill a bucket, empty milk carton or can with water and leave it outside to freeze,” FSIS advises. “Then put homemade ice in your refrigerator, freezer, or cooler.”
