PTI chairman Malir blamed Haleem Adil Sheikh for the defeat in the PS-88 poll | Instant News

Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders from Malir District have held the party’s provincial leadership, notably the opposition Sindh Assembly leader Haleem Adil Sheikh, responsible for the defeat in Tuesday’s PS-88 poll, and suing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party supremo, Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail and other central leaders investigated the factors behind the humiliating defeat.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the recently resigned PTI president, Qadir Bakhsh Kalmati, senior leaders Inayat Khattak and Tariq Baloch, and other officials accused the Sheikh of deliberately fielding weak candidates in PS-88 to ensure victory for the Pakistani people. Party candidate.

In the PS-88 by-election, PPP candidate Yousaf Baloch won the electoral district by pocketing more than 24,000 votes against TLP candidate Syed Kashif Shah, who was in second place after bagging 6,099 votes. PTI Candidate Jansher Junejo and Muttahida Qaumi-Pakistan Movement Candidate Sajid Ahmed received 4,870 and 2,634 votes, respectively

Electoral districts have been vacant due to the deaths of PPP MPA and Sindh Ghulam minister Murtaza Baloch due to infection with the new coronavirus in June last year. In a press, Kalmati alleged that the Shaykh had used the PTI and its workers for personal gain, and as a result, the party’s popularity declined in the city. “In the 2018 poll, the candidate for PTI Captain (Purnawirawan) Muhammad Rizwan came in second with 16,386 votes, but now when PPP is in the worst situation due to bad governance and corruption, PTI candidate Junejo is in third place with around 4,800 votes, ” she says.

Kalmati admitted that Junejo worked as a contractor with Ghulam Murtaza Baloch. “Because of the understanding between the Sheikh and the PPP leadership, Junejo was given a PTI ticket to pave the way for Yousaf Baloch’s victory in the opinion polls,” he accused.

The PTI leadership from Malir also criticized the PPP-led Sindh government for “destroying the district”. “The entire cultivation has been destroyed while more than 20,000 hectares of land have been occupied in the district, thanks to the provincial government,” he said.

In January, Kalmati had resigned from the presidency of Malir District in protest at giving Jansher Junejo party tickets for the PS-88 by-election. He had warned the party leadership of an embarrassing defeat.

Separately, PTI president Karachi and MPA Khurram Sher Zaman, speaking to media outside the Malir Court where the Sheikh was present, said the PPP had taken revenge from lawmakers from opposing parties and had withdrawn their security. “If there are any casualties, Bilawal Zardari and Murad Ali Shah will be held responsible for it,” he warned.

He said the media had shown the manipulation of the elections in PS-88, thus revealing the “true face of PPP”. Zaman said that the Shaykh’s fault was that he spoke out against the corruption of Murad Ali Shah and the Sindh government.

“The PTI war against the Sindh government will continue to eradicate billions of rupees in corruption in the province and give the Sindh people rights,” he said. PTI Sindh Assembly members Saeed Afridi, Raja Azhar, Ali GG, Shahnawaz Jadoon, Dua Bhutto and a large number of party leaders and workers attended the court.

Law takes the direction of the war situation in Malir: CM | Instant News

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said that in the Sanghar by-election on Tuesday, armed guards did not interfere, unlike Karachi where the ECP code of conduct was violated by harassing voters and election staff. He said a war-like situation had been created in the PS-88 constituency, forcing the law to take its place.

The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, is speaking with the media at the General Election Commission of Pakistan, Karachi, where he examines the PPP candidates running for the Senate elections. He said Pakistan’s Election Commission’s code of conduct for by-election was violated in Karachi, therefore, the law was in effect.

Answering a question about the PPP’s victory in the by-election, Shah said that in PS-88, Malir, the PPP candidate Yousuf Murtaza Baloch won by pocketing 24,000 votes, which is even higher than the number of votes the late MPA received from the electoral district. “This shows that people’s trust in the area is getting stronger in the Pakistan People’s Party,” he said, adding those who claimed to be the owners of Malir. [PTI] is in the third position in the by-election results, even lagging behind TLP which won second place. “Then why did you create a war-like situation at the TPS?” she asked.

For a question, CM Sindh said that on Tuesday [polling day], he watched Safe Naval Exercise 2021 with Pakistani President Arif Alvi from 10am onwards in the deep sea where cell phones were not working. “I don’t know what happened during the voting but when I came back at 4pm and watched the media, it was a war-like situation created by armed guards at the polling station that was recorded by electronic media,” he said, adding whatever happened. there are unlucky, unethical and demonstrations of irresponsibility.

Shah said that the MPA and MNA were prohibited from visiting the polling stations by the ECP and carrying weapons was strictly prohibited. “What can I say when you are [Haleem Adil Shaikh] bring your armed bodyguards to open fire, then the law must take its course, ”he said.

Answering a question about the president’s reference to secret voting in Senate elections, Murad Ali Shah said: “In fact, PTI does not support open voting in Senate elections. Had it supported open voting, it would have given the opposition confidence long before the Senate elections. “He added,” Now they are [PTI] became insecure because their own MPs revolted against the PTI candidate running for the Senate. “This insecurity has forced them (the government) to announce conditional regulations.

Murad Ali Shah said he has not yet approached other party MPAs for the Senate vote. “It totally depends on which MPs they vote for,” he said, adding that he had three seats in the Senate elections, one for the general seat, one for women and the third for technocrats. “Our party has nominated the most suitable candidate and I will definitely vote for them,” he concluded.

‘Malir Highway will affect Karachi green area’ | Instant News

KARACHI:

The construction of the Malir Toll Road will not only displace dozens of families, but will also affect the green area which is the source of fruit and vegetables to Karachi, maintained by a committee consisting of people affected by ML-1, Malir Toll Road and evictions along Gujjar nullah attention on Wednesday.

Organizers voiced such concerns during a press conference at the Karachi Press Club that day.

Director of the Pakistan Institute of Manpower, Education and Research Karamat Ali, Chair of the Pakistan Human Rights Commission Asad Iqbal Butt, Mahnaz Rehman of the Aurat Foundation and others spoke at the occasion.

On this occasion, the speakers demanded a public hearing about the construction of the Malir Toll Road and anti-encroachment routes along Gujjar nullah, Manzoor Colony nullah and the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) and ML-1 lines.

Local residents need to be consulted at hearings about these projects and initiatives, the speakers emphasized.

They also demanded alternative accommodation for the 1,100 families displaced following the launch of the KCR and similar arrangements for those affected by the Malir Expressway and demolition of buildings along Gujjar and the Manzoor Colony nullahs.
