UN envoy: Key military commanders support efforts to unify Libya | World | Instant News

Once the administration was finished, he said, the current two governments would disappear.

“Parallel institutions go: you have a united institution,” Williams said in an interview from the sprawling UN complex in Geneva.

The comments came on the same day his office announced the start of a seventh round of talks involving a joint military committee to help solidify a ceasefire that has largely held since it was signed in October in Geneva.

The meeting focused on opening a coastal road along the Mediterranean “to allow safe passage of citizens and goods,” which could involve assistance from mine clearance experts and work to clear up “the remnants of war,” said a statement.

The UN Security Council asked the secretary-general on Thursday to immediately deploy a team of predecessors to Libya as a first step in sending a ceasefire monitor.

But the presence of foreign fighters and mercenaries, including Turkey, Russia, Syria, Sudan and Chad, remains unknown for the country’s efforts towards stability. Williams has warned of their presence, estimating in December they numbered at least 20,000.

‚ÄúThis really isn’t rocket science, is it? No, “he said.” Libyans, in a sense, need to be left alone to work together to rebuild their country, which has many promises. “

L3Harris was awarded a three-year FFP contract worth $ 115 million under the Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) arrangement for the Australian Defense Force’s Delphic – Cryptographic Modernization program. L3Harris will deliver tactical radios, waveforms, and extras that support emerging cryptographic modernization standards.

The company was also awarded a $ 118 million contract to provide advanced night vision goggle technology to enhance Army’s ability to find and deal with threats – increasing their situational awareness, mobility and safety. This award follows the successful delivery of L3Harris’ night vision technology for Tranche 1 of the Land 53 program in 2020.

The L3Harris will feature the Fused Night Vision System (FNVS), which combines the latest night vision capabilities – combining image intensification technology with thermal imagery to provide soldiers with enhanced situational awareness, targeting and identification capabilities in all battlefield conditions and light levels. When combined with the L3Harris battery pack, the FNVS sends critical battlefield information straight into the eyes of soldiers.

Both contracts include full in-country support and repair capabilities in Australia.

“This major modernization program extends L3Harris’ long-term partnership with the Australian Defense Force, supports mission requirements for advanced secure communications and night vision capabilities, and will also enhance our expanded technical support capabilities in Australia,” said Dana Mehnert, President of Systems Communications, L3 Harris.

Latest: Peru is the 5th Latin country to make it through millions of cases | Business news | Instant News

New South Wales state Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian said the Christmas concessions were “very simple” and would be reviewed on a daily basis.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson said two facilities would be built to provide more than 100 additional hospital beds if needed for COVID-19 patients.

The governor said on Tuesday that while the state’s existing capacity has been able to handle the current caseload, there could be a spike in cases after the Christmas holidays, such as what happened after Thanksgiving. He said that “we have to be ready for whatever comes January.”

He said the “alternative care shelters” would provide a total of 124 new beds and cost $ 7.4 million.

Hutchinson said 1,103 people are now being treated in hospitals in Arkansas for COVID-19. He said the state had 205,048 confirmed or suspected coronavirus infections so far, with 3,338 deaths.

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said his government has partnered with medical testing companies to provide free home coronavirus testing for people without health insurance coverage.

Officials worry that fewer people are being tested, leading to a false picture of the spread of the virus in Wisconsin. About 6,852 people were tested in the previous 24 hours, compared with about 20,000 per day in mid-November.
