ISL 2020-21, SC East Bengal vs NorthEast United FC: Who won yesterday’s match? | Instant News

SC East BengalDisappointing Indian Super League (ISL) The season continued as they lost 2-1 to NorthEast United FC on Wednesday. VP Suhair put the Highlanders ahead in the 48th minute before Sarthak Golui’s own goal doubled their lead seven minutes later. Although Sarthak pulled a goal back for ISL debutants, it was too late.

With the playoffs out of reach, SC East Bengal made as many as eight changes to their starting line-up. But NorthEast United FC started strong, with Luis Machado creating chances in the third minute. Machado provides the through ball for Deshorn Brown, whose shot is easily saved Mirshad Michu.

Machado then did a good combination with Imran Khan, but the last chipped pass was a little over the line as Mirshad dashed out of line to catch the ball. SC East Bengal also got their chance when Matti Steinmann found Mohammad Rafique with a neat pass down the right wing. But no one has met the ultimate cross.

SC East Bengal survived a penalty appeal when Raju Gaikwad nearly grappled with Brown, who fell inside the box. However, the referee ignored the game. VP Suhair then tested Mirsahd with a powerful attack, but the East Bengal SC guards did well to fend off him.

Machado immediately swung in a good corner, but Brown failed to brush it right as the ball rolled safely into Mirshad. After a cool down break, Jeje couldn’t find an empty net from Ajay Chhetri’s corner. East Bengal SC looked alive as the half drew to a close, but they could not add to the gap.

NorthEast United FC started the second half brilliantly as they took the lead in the 48th minute, thanks to VP Suhair’s goal. Imran Khan provided the through ball for Suhair, who made no mistake in finding the net.

Provat Lakra then blocked a powerful Haobam Singh shot, while Deshorn Brown was thwarted by Mirshad at the other end of the pitch. The Highlanders doubled their lead by chance as SC East Bengal defenders Sarthak golui slices the ball into his own net as he tries to clear Nim Dorjee’s cross.

NorthEast United FC might have scored the third in the 63rd minute, but Suhair’s header missed from close range. SC East Bengal were then reduced to ten men in the 71st minute after Raju Gaikwad was shown a second yellow card after bringing down Brown. SC East Bengal immediately took in a free-kick, which Surchandra Singh shot superbly, only to see NorthEast United FC goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury push him over the post.

Surchandra also made a long-range attempt, but it was too direct to trouble Subhasish. The veteran goalkeeper then made a mistake as NorthEast United conceded a goal late in regular time. Surchandra delivers another inviting free kick into the box and Sarthak Golui redeems himself by heading the ball into the net over Daniel Fox’s head. In the end, NorthEast United FC sealed the win to take three important points.

When the opportunity arrived at the start of the second half, Suhair made a neat finish after receiving a good pass from Imran Khan. The 28-year-old also contributed defensively for NorthEast United FC with one clearance and one block.

But it’s not too fantastic and not too positive especially in attack. It (Northeast) will be a tough game. They have signed up. that’s good especially foreigners. And in this game we see if we get a chance or not but our target is to win this game. Our concern is to play successful football and score goals. We got into the game our way against Goa and this is the target. us, “said Laszlo, whose team has not won in their last seven games.

Highlanders assistant coach Alison Kharsyntiew urged his team not to take their opponents lightly. “We just need to control them, dictate the game and not give them time with the ball and space to operate.” We have to be calm, calm and concentrate on our game. “At the same time we have to show aggression, we have to play with intensity and 100 per cent effort to win games,” he said.
