Three pickpockets who have robbed bus passengers for years are in detention | Instant News


Karachi’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) personnel on Saturday announced the arrest of three pickpockets allegedly involved in robbing residents on public transport.

SIU head Haider Raza said that according to information shared by law enforcement agencies, a group of three pickpockets had been operating in different parts of the city for several years and seizing cash, cell phones and other valuables from passengers. They are also suspected of being involved in drug trafficking and robbery.

Pickpockets carry weapons and explosives when committing crimes.

Raza said all SUI teams were directed to order these people through informants and technical assistance.

As directed, SIU CIA Karachi personnel carried out raids based on intelligence and technical information and managed to capture Yousuf Masih, his son Habeel Masih alias Adil from Surjani City and Naseer from New Karachi with explosives and banned weapons.

The case has been registered at the SIU Police Station. The suspects revealed that they had been pickpocketing for years on Bilal, X-23, Khan Coach, N-4 and F-11 buses in Liaquatabad, Shafiq Morr, Lyari and other areas. Yousuf Masih used to steal cell phones from passenger pockets and his son would open them. After unlocking the phone, Yousuf sold it on the open market / Sunday market. Four stolen cell phones were also found on the suspects.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Friday reportedly expressed his anger at the mismanagement of cabin crew when their seats were allocated to other passengers on a flight bound for Karachi from Islamabad.

Based on Geo.tvAsad Umar, along with other parliamentarians, was on the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK 309 when the minister learned of another passenger occupying his seat.

The minister reportedly got into a fight with the cabin crew, telling them he paid money to buy a ticket, therefore, it was his right to sit in his own seat.

“[It’s unfair that] I have bought a ticket for this seat, but there are other people sitting there, “said the minister, according to the source.” This [mismanagement] has lasted about an hour. I bought a ticket, paid for it. “

Due to mismanagement, the flight was delayed for one hour.

The minister was assigned seat number 12F, sources said, adding that several other lawmakers accompanied him during the flight.

Federal Minister Aminul Haq, PPP’s Agha Rafiullah, Qadir Patel and other members of the assembly were reportedly among the MPs present on the council.

The airport’s testing center will also be open from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. compared with the current 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., airport handling company Swissport announced in a press release on Friday. The airport testing center is located at the former Card and ID Office at Check-in 2 on Level 1.

At CHF80 ($ 88), Swissport says the antigen test will be cheaper than the PCR test, which costs CHF195, and the results will be available in 15-20 minutes. This is much faster than the PCR test, which has to be sent to an external laboratory.

Airport screening services are offered by Swissport Checkport subsidiary and Swiss start-up Ender Diagnostics. It is aimed specifically at symptom-free people who need a negative test to travel.

The pandemic reduced the number of air passengers traveling in and out of Switzerland from 42 million in 2019 to 16.5 million last year – a decline of 72%. Many countries now require negative coronavirus tests and travelers arriving in Switzerland must also show a clean bill of health since February 8.

New tests and isolation rules for passengers arriving from UK, Brazil & South Africa | Instant News


NEW DELHI: In an effort to protect its population from Africa or English strain from Corona virus, the government today announced a variety of new measures to test passenger arrived from England, Brazil and south Africa starting Tuesday next week.

The new rules mandate that travelers arriving / transiting from flights originating from the UK, Europe and the Middle East must submit a Self-Declaration Form (SDF) for COVID on Air Suvidha online portal before scheduled trips and will be asked to state their travel history (for the past 14 days). ‘

“All passengers arriving from Britain, Europe and the Middle East must carry a negative RT-PCR test report whose tests are supposed to be carried out within 72 hours of traveling,” the aviation ministry announced a new standard operating procedure today.

Above and above these requirements, passengers arriving from these countries must also pay from ‘molecular test‘at Indian airports.

“All travelers arriving from / transiting via flights originating from Great Britain, Europe or the Middle East are required to undergo a self-pay confirmation molecular test on arrival at the relevant Indian airport (port of entry),” read the new rules.

The government has also advised passengers arriving from these countries to maintain at least 6 to 8 hours of time between flights, in case they have to continue onward.

“In view of the testing requirements for passengers from the UK, Brazil and South Africa, who must take a connecting flight, airlines must notify passengers of the need for a minimum transit time of 6-8 hours at the airport of entry (within India) when booking tickets for connecting flights,” read the rules.

The need for SOPs was only felt after the government announced on Tuesday that five people, who had recently returned to India, had been detected with the Covid-19 variant found in South Africa and Brazil.

India, which saw a spike in the number of COVID infections around Diwali last year, has been able to control the spread of the infection in most of the country except for Kerala and Maharashtra, which have seen large numbers of cases.

LONDON (Reuters) – Anyone entering the UK from Tuesday will have to be tested for COVID-19 on the second and eighth days after their arrival, said an ITV reporter, without citing sources.

“Understand that the government will announce tomorrow that ALL passengers arriving in the UK must be tested for COVID on the 2nd and 8th day after they arrive,” said ITV reporter Paul Brand on Twitter.

“It’s not just those who come from the red zone countries heading for hotel quarantine, but those who are isolating at home.”
