Richarlison is ready to collide with Everton after disagreeing with their stance.
The forward is determined to play for Brazil at the Olympics, which are scheduled to take place this summer in Tokyo.
And then he was eager to take part in the Copa America, but he was worried his club would get in his way.
The former Watford star has been an integral member of the Brazil national team in recent years after making his debut shortly after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Since then, he has made 23 appearances and scored eight goals.
Selecao manager Tite is expected to select Richarlison for the upcoming tournament, especially if he continues his stellar form. Everton.
But the 23-year-old admits he may be forced to choose one competition to enter due to a dispute with his club.
“This year there is a Copa America and there is also the Olympics,” he told ESPN. “It seems the club doesn’t want to let me go. [to both].
“[They] just wanted to release me to one, I think it’s for the Copa America, I don’t know. I was called, I told them I wanted to go to the Copa America and the Olympics, if I was called.
“Like it or not, I don’t know if I’ll have another chance at the Olympics because I’m old enough [bracket]. I want to play, I want to go.
“Because I have never played the Olympics and we will defend our title.
“So, I want to go, yes. It will be discussed here within the club to find out what decisions will be made.”
Everton have been reluctant to allow their star players to play in two different tournaments after a bizarre year at Premier League.
In the absence of pre-season and a busy schedule, the Toffees want Richarlison to enjoy an extended break at the end of the season.
But if he joins the Brazilian team, he will start the new season with almost no rest at all – risking exhaustion later on.
