KARACHI – Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani said that more development schemes will start under the Annual Development Program (ADP) and projects pending from the last tenure will be given priority.
Shallwani said this while addressing a meeting of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation – KMC Works department to review work for road and overpass renovation and replacement of expansion joints, said a KMC spokesman.
Commissioner Karachi said that KMC used all its resources to carry out lifting work in the city.
He said that the city’s bustling streets were being renovated based on priority and that the Teen Hatti bridge renovation work was almost complete. He said that given the importance of the Teen Hatti bridge, Victorian street lamps were being installed while the tiles were being repaired.
The area will be made more beautiful because the plants are planted in the green belt. Iron grills have been installed on both sides of the bridge, he said, adding, “The purpose of replacing expansion joints and road construction is to ensure smooth traffic flow,”.
Shallwani said that after the renovation work, the Teen Hatti bridge will become a pilot bridge and more bridges will be lifted in the same pattern, if the public likes it.
