ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday reiterated the government’s determination to provide protective equipment for health professionals based on priorities in their struggle against the corona pandemic.
While chairing a high-level review meeting on the situation after the country’s coronavirus outbreak, the Prime Minister said doctors and medical staff were acting as the vanguard to stop the spread of this deadly disease.
Imran Khan points out that the benefits of a comprehensive package that has been announced for the construction sector must reach the lower strata of society, especially workers. The Prime Minister said that the funds for the Public Sector Development Program should be used for projects related to small and medium industries.
The meeting announced that 49,500 protective kits had been sent to various provincial hospitals and more kit shipments would be completed within the next few days. The total number of confirmed corona virus cases in this country has reached 3,899.
These include 1493 cases in Punjab, 881 in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 405, Balochistan 202, Gilgit-Baltistan 210, Islamabad Capital Territory 82 and Azad Kashmir 16. Fifty people have died of the corona virus since the outbreak in Pakistan and 257 have recovered.
