Dr Zafar Mirza and Tania Aidrus have resigned from their posts.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Special Assistant to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Digital Pakistan Tania Aidrus.

Previously, Dr. Zafar Mirza and Tania Aidrus had resigned from their positions. Zafar Mirza took to the social networking site Twitter and made an announcement, stating that he had resigned as a special assistant because of ongoing negative discussions about the role of SAPM and criticism of the government.

I came to Pakistan at the personal invitation of PM Imran Khan after leaving the World Health Organization (WHO). I am satisfied that I left when COVID-19 declined in Pakistan as a result of a major national effort, he added.

Mirza further said that Pakistanis deserve better health care and that she has worked honestly and sincerely to contribute to this goal. It is an honor to serve this country, he said.

Earlier today, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Digital Pakistan Tania Aidrus also resigned from a post on dual citizenship.

In his resignation letter to PM Imran Khan, Tania said that he returned to Pakistan with the sole intention to contribute and develop the vision of Digital Pakistan, a concept that the PM always voiced and shared.

He added that the recent discourse in the public sphere about his Canadian citizenship, which was a consequence of his birth and not the acquisition of choices, was a disruption to his ability to execute on a long-term vision for Digital Pakistan.

Aamir Liaquat’s resignation was ‘rejected’ by PM Imran | Instant News

KARACHI – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday refused to resign his party’s MNA from Karachi Aamir Liaquat Husain and stated that he was “proud” that the TV host was part of the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in power in Pakistan.

Aamir Liaquat shared on Twitter, that in his ‘long’ meeting the prime minister refused to resign ‘four pages’ in length. He added that he spoke to the PM with an open heart and praised him for raising his voice to issues related to Karachi.

“You are an asset to Tehreek-e-Insaf, there is no need to leave anything behind,” Aamir quoted PM Imran in a series of tweets. He added that the party needed it and would make Pakistan a welfare state and that he “respected MPs for raising his voice to Karachi”.

The TV broadcaster who became a politician said that the Prime Minister told him that he was aware of the problem he had mentioned and that Karachi was “the most important city” for him.

Earlier in the day, Hussain had announced on Twitter that he was heading to the Prime Minister to submit his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“I am heading to Prime Minister House to submit my resignation to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan,” tweeted a member of parliament from Karachi.

Last week, Hussain tweeted that he had asked for time from Prime Minister Imran Khan and would submit his resignation to him at the meeting because he felt “helpless” as an MNA from Karachi.

“I admit that I am a helpless MNA from Karachi,” Hussain said, adding that he could not provide electricity to residents of his city.

“I can’t see people in Karachi, especially my constituents, suffering and can’t see them facing lies [K-Electric CEO] Monis Alvi, “said MNA.

The port city has faced prolonged and frequent power cuts since the beginning of the summer, which has brought with it hot and humid weather and a surge in electricity demand. The blackouts became worse after the city was hit by monsoon rains.

KE CEO Moonis Alvi also apologized to the people of Karachi while noting that the city had witnessed an unusual cargo transfer.

The reason for the release of load, according to the head of the EC, is the high demand of 3,560 megawatts (MW) when the electricity utility, he said, has a peak generating capacity of only 3,200 MW.

Former MQM member revealed he offered his resignation to PM Imran | Instant News

Television anchor and PTI leader from Karachi Amir Liaquat Hussain has announced that he will resign from his post as MNA.

In a tweet, a former MQM member revealed that he was on his way to the Prime Minister’s Office to offer his resignation to Prime Minister Imran.

Hussain, who won with a PTI ticket from the NA-245 in the 2018 general election, had earlier indicated resigning in a post on Twitter, arguing that he could not give his constituents any relief from the frequent blackouts in Karachi.

“I confess that I am a helpless Karachi MNA. I cannot provide electricity for people in my city. I cannot see the people in my city suffer. I will ask the prime minister for time and submit my resignation, “he said.

Karachi has been hit with intense power cuts over the past few weeks as the federal government and the Sindh government continue to trade thorns over the city’s electricity problems and K-Electric’s electricity suppliers. The city has experienced up to 10 hours of power outages without notice despite guarantees from the ministers.

This is not the first time that PTI’s MNA has been on the news because it is annoyed at his party.

In 2018, a month after the general election, a report emerged about the differences between Hussain and PTI after he expressed his anger with the party for not inviting him to a dinner held at the Governor’s Building.

According to reports, Liaquat left the WhatsApp group of PTI Sindh leaders on this issue.

Before leaving the WhatsApp group, Liaquat had sent a voice message in which he expressed his anger towards Information Secretary Shehzada Qureshi calling him to bring about positive change.

“You won’t get a chance to win so many seats. Don’t be a reason to lose respect. Obstacles will be created in the future if you continue to persecute your own people, “Liaquat was quoted as saying in a voice message.

Karachi PTI President Shamim Naqvi said there was no reason to be disappointed because no dinner was held.
