LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid reviewed progress on the distribution of Sahulat Health Cards in Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan during a meeting on Saturday.

The health minister said, “In the current fiscal year, all families from the Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions will be given a Sahulat Health Card. So far, 42 percent of people have received Sahulat Health Cards in the two divisions. By December 2021, all 22.93 million families will receive health insurance. Cardholders can avail health insurance facilities of up to Rs. 720,000. The distribution of cards is a big step towards making Prime Minister Imran Khan’s dream come true. PM Imran Khan will introduce the Sahulat Healthy Program at AJK today | Instant News

ISLAMABAD: The Sahulat Health Program will be launched in Azad Jammu and Kashmir by Prime Minister Imran Khan today.

The ceremony is scheduled for 16.00 today. The event will be attended by PM AJK Raja Farooq Haider, Federal Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar.

The health program will cover 1,200,000 households in 10 districts including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli and Neelum. Six family members will receive free medical treatment including heart surgery. It also provides a transport fee of Rs1,000 and includes a five day supply of medication for postoperative patients. However, transplants are not covered by the scheme.

All district hospitals in the northern region will be upgraded under the initiative. Health cards can be accepted at 350 hospitals across Pakistan including 11 at AJK. For the first time, military hospitals were also included in the program.

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan called the Sahulat Healthy Program a pro-poor provincial government scheme and a step towards Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of a welfare state.

The project will ensure health care facilities for the masses and improve the standard of living of ordinary people, the chief minister said during a speech at a public meeting at the Grassy Ground in Swat district where Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday launched an extension of the Sahulat Healthy Program for the province. .

“In the first phase, the Sahulat Health Program has been launched in Swat, Upper Chitral, Lower Chitral, Malakand, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, and in the second stage it will be expanded to Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Torghar and Buner District next month. Likewise, the project will cover all districts by January next year, “he added.

The chief minister stated that more than six million households will get free health facilities and each household will get these facilities to get free medical treatment of up to Rs1 million per year.

Mahmood Khan said that work on various major development projects in the province was ongoing.

Phase-I of the Swat Highway Project has been completed and works in Phase-II will be launched soon, he explained. Likewise, he said, progress was ongoing on the Dera Ismail Khan Toll Road, Dir Toll Road, Chitral Toll Road, Shangla-Bishaam Toll Road and Peshawar-Torkham Toll Road.

In his speech at the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan praised the efforts of the provincial government and top minister of the Sahulat Healthy Program and promoted a new tourist site in Gabin Jabba, Swat.

Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed, KP Minister for Culture and Labor Shaukat Yousafzai and others also addressed the occasion. Meanwhile, Imran Khan and Mahmood Khan officially inaugurated the newly constructed Saidu Medical Collage block.

Earlier, the prime minister together with Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood khan visited the newly developed tourist spot in Gabin Jabba where they were briefed on camping spots and other tourist facilities set up there by the provincial government.
