Samsung might use the OLED BOE screen for the upcoming Galaxy flagship | Instant News

Samsung reportedly was talking with Chinese electronics company BOE to make an OLED screen for the future Galaxy smartphone. New providers may not provide OLED screens for all Galaxy smartphones.

According to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Samsung is looking for a flexible 6.67 inch OLED display. This screen is expected to be displayed on one of the Galaxy flagships which will be launched next year. The name of the featured series is still unclear.

Along with a 6.67-inch screen, Samsung will also use a 6.6-inch BOE screen with Full HD resolution on the Galaxy A91.

After Samsung and LG, BOE is the largest OLED supplier for smartphones. However, this company is the top LCD supplier in the world. By using the BOE display, Samsung has the potential to reduce smartphone costs.

Samsung is saturated with a sharp decline in smartphone demand after the outbreak of Covid-19 worldwide. In India, the company has launched a new flagship series with the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus just weeks before the lockout takes effect. The company still cannot launch the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in India.

The fate of the smartphone industry will be decided after the second phase of locking will be lifted on May 3. The Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) and the Confederation of All Indian Traders (CAIT) have urged the Indian government to allow sales of mobile phones, laptops, desktops, storage devices, and other electronic products during national lockouts.

ICEA shares a list of impacts that the country could face if electronic products were not included in the essential categories of government.

T-Mobile’s new 5G network is incompatible with old Sprint phones | Instant News

When T-Mobile and Sprint announced their merger, one of the main advantages that was praised for T-Mobile’s “new” was its ability to build a better 5G network.

For 5G cell phone owners and enthusiastic beginning users, that sounds great. But now we know that the newly combined 5G telco footprint doesn’t work well for those who currently have a Sprint 5G handset.

Wireless customers with 2019 5G Sprint phones – such as Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, and LG V50 ThinQ 5G – will need to improve their cellphones, according to T-Mobile, when the company finally turned the 5G Sprint network into hers.

T-Mobile plans to inform customers about these mobile models about the offer of improvement. Until then, these customers will be able to continue using the 5G Sprint network.

The owner of the Galaxy S20 is lucky. From the 5G Sprint offering, Samsung phones happen to be compatible with T-Mobile’s 5G network and no upgrades are needed. This includes S20 premium models such as Ultra 5G and Plus 5G as well.

T-Mobile said that Sprint Galaxy S20 customers will be able to start using its 5G network later this month.

As for other Sprint phones, the lack of compatibility lies in how Sprint builds its 5G network. OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and LG V50 ThinQ 5G do not have modems that support T-Mobile based 600GHz low band 5G networks. Galaxy S10 5G, which T-Mobile initially promoted as compatible before reversing, was unable to register the LTE anchor band for 2.5GHz 5G T-Mobile.

The process of merging the Sprint infrastructure into the T-Mobile network is planned to take around 3 years. And the company has begun the process in several cities in the U.S. The T-Mobile 2.5GHz mid-band spectrum has just been launched in Philadelphia. Next: convert 5G Sprint to the T-Mobile network in New York City.
