Warning: This article contains a major Dangerous Lies spoilers. You might already know that, but just in case.
Dangerous Lies on Netflix is a new thriller released today Camila Mendes and Jessie T. Usher as a young married couple struggling to make ends meet trapped in a murderous torture mystery. That’s right: Veronica Lodge from Riverdale has graduated from teen murder mystery thriller to adult murder mystery thriller. And honest? Good for him
Directed by Michael Scott (no, no that Michael Scott) and written by David Golden, Dangerous Lies following in the footsteps of Netflix’s original thrillers before that, including Secret Obsession, Broken, Rattle snake, and others. In other words, it is not very good. But that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to watch Mendes and Usher do their thing and occasionally make out. They are both interesting people!
Don’t worry if you get lost trying to follow Dangerous Lies plot, or do not understand Dangerous Lies end. Considering this film provided a lot of information in the past 20 minutes, I don’t blame you! I also don’t blame you if you don’t have the patience to watch a movie, and just want to know Dangerous Lies plot twist. I am here to help with all of the above. Let’s discuss that Dangerous Lies ended, explained.
What is the Dangerous Lies plot, explained?
Katie (Camila Mendes) is a waiter at a diner, and her husband Adam (Jessie T. Usher) is a graduate student of “contemporary sociological theory and empirical corporate analysis.” When there was a murder and robbery attempt at the restaurant, and Adam took the person out, and became a local hero.
The restaurant was closed, so Katie got a job guarding an older man named Leonard (Elliott Gould, aka Ross and Monica’s father from Friend). Leonard mentioned that his gardener Ethan had mysteriously disappeared several years ago. Hah! Maybe there is nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, Adam has quit graduate school and is interviewing for a big job. The couple struggled financially, and he and Katie began to fight. Leonard, a nice man, hires Adam as his new gardener to help them. Leonard also continued to hear voices at night and was sure someone was entering. Maybe there is also nothing to worry about, I’m sure!
One day, a real estate agent named Mickey Hayden (Cam Gigandet) says he has a client who wants to buy Leonard’s house. Katie politely sent him away, but the man insisted. Adam noted that the house must have been very valuable, and also that Leonard had never moved his luxurious Buick. He also seems to be interested in the fact that Leonard has no family. Hmmmmm
Soon after, Katie found Leonard in the attic, dead in her chair. When Adam came to console him, he found a chest containing a letter from the late secret wife Leonard, who died in a car accident, as well as a pile of money. Adam convinced Katie to take the money, claiming it would all go to the government. Then, when Adam was in the attic counting cash – which was nearly $ 100,000 – he was attacked from behind by an intruder. Adam and Katie assumed it was someone who knew that Leonard had died and wanted to search the house. They decided to keep cash in a safe. A woman claiming to be Leonard’s lawyer named Julia (played by Jamie Chung) appeared, and said Leonard hired her a few weeks before writing a will. A will saying that Leonard left everything, including the house, to Katie.
Katie and Adam are rich now, and soon Adam wants to start committing tax fraud, like a true rich person. Then he got a call from the police station about a diner robbery that took place five months ago – apparently, the robber was killed in prison. But apparently, the police did not call Adam to the office, a secret informant did not name.
Meanwhile, the real estate agent from before, Mickey Hayden, shows up and tries to make Katie sell the house in the scariest way possible. Katie called Julia’s lawyer for advice, which for some reason made Adam very sad. Someone followed Adam around, and he wasn’t too careful about the money they stole. To top it all off, police detective (Sasha Alexander) begins to become very suspicious of Katie and Adam.
The police found a check Katie had deposited from Leonard, which was far greater than his salary – a gift that convinced Adam to keep it. Katie found the body in a secret room in Leonard’s garden that she suspected was Ethan, the gardener who had mysteriously disappeared. Adam found a bag of diamonds on Ethan’s body, wanted to keep it and said he would get rid of it. When someone broke into the house the following night, Adam threatened him with a gun. He tripped, fell down the stairs and died. Apparently, it was Mr. Calvern, from an elderly care agency.
What is the Dangerous Lies plot twist?
Yes there are two. First: Adam is innocent. The real culprit here is a scary real estate agent. Is the red herring not clear enough for you?
Julia’s lawyer told Katie that Adam would betray her, so Katie confronted Adam. He found that he had been trying to call Katie all day. He discovered that the creepy real estate man, Mickey Hayden, was by no means a real estate man. He is an ex-convict who robbed a jewelry store of a collection of diamonds that had never been found. Hayden also had an accomplice who left: Ethan Doyle, the dead gardener. According to Adam, Hayden shot Doyle when the police approached them. So it was Hayden who broke into the house, looking for diamonds.
But the second story line is that Hayden’s real accomplice is Julia the lawyer. Dunno what!
How Dangerous Lies end? What is the Dangerous Lies The ending is explained?
Katie realized that she had mistaken Adam, and that she would never leave him. He called Julia to tell him they were wrong, but Hayden attacked when he did. Hayden shot Adam, and dropped Katie. But then Adam came and shot Hayden in the chest, as in “Mmm Whatcha Say” Saturday Night Live sketch. Adam died in Katie’s arms, and her last words were, “In the garden …”
Julia shows up and tells Katie that they need to find diamonds as evidence so the police can’t involve her. But when Julia revealed that she knew the value of diamonds, despite the fact that Katie had never told her, Julia revealed her evil plan. He explained that he was the public defender assigned to the Hayden case and that the two of them made a deal. Julia got a plea offer for Hayden, and then she tracked down Doyle, and somehow knew that he was hiding in Leonard’s apartment – only he couldn’t find it. Hayden became impatient, so he killed Leonard by messing up the dose. Then Julia had to cover up the murder, so she decided to raise suspicions about Katie with a will. It’s not mentioned, but I assume Julia or Hayden also made an anonymous call to the police about a restaurant robbery, which turned out to be another red herring.
Julia was ready and ready to kill Katie when she admitted she did not know where Adam hid the diamond, but then the police detective showed up and shot Julia (after Julia shot first, of course). It seemed that Julia’s presence with a gun was enough to convince the police that Katie was innocent.
Four months later, Katie worked in the garden. Apparently, he had to guard the house, despite Leonard’s false will. The detective comes to visit and informs him that Adam’s name has been deleted, and also drops a bomb that Katie is pregnant with her husband’s dead child. He mentioned that they combed Leonard’s house, but still could not find the diamond. Katie is everything, “Wow, officer, I hope I can help,” but then the final picture of the film is a water sprinkler that sweeps away the soil to reveal that the diamond is in it, you guessed it, in the park. Right, where Adam said they would be! Gosh! And that’s the end of the film.
I certainly hope Camila and baby Camila are very happy with the diamond tree that will grow there. That’s how it works, right?
