SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Eight additional people have been arrested or face charges relating to damage and looting at Scottsdale Fashion Square on Saturday night. More than $ 46,000 of property has also been recovered.






Police said 19-year-old Sky Black helped steal $ 11,000 from the mall.




According to police, 19-year-old Sky Black and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Shemar Cooper, used a short-term rental home in Scottsdale as their meeting place before the looting. The couple was arrested for theft and trade in stolen goods. The police found stolen property from a shopping mall worth $ 11,000. There are three other teenagers on rental and all from Tucson. Investigators identified them as 18-year-old Christopher Raybon, 18-year-old Ewveromvon Usuman and 19-year-old Labrina Johnson. The three were quoted and released on charges of trespassing.

Another teenager, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested for theft and more than $ 3,500 of stolen property was found with him, police said. He will not be identified since he is under 18 years old.

Police said 21-year-old Robby Galarza stole a watch from Tiffany.




Police said during the riot, 21-year-old Robby Galarza stole a $ 4,100 watch from a Tiffany jewelry store. He had just been arrested for theft and the police found a watch. Investigators say, 30-year-old Maurianna Griffin stole bags and sunglasses worth more than $ 28,000 on Saturday night. He was recently arrested and charged with theft.

Scottsdale police said there were now 20 people arrested in connection with riots and looting in the city on Saturday night. Hundreds of people protested near the indoor mall when the violence broke out. Millions of dollars in repairs are needed at the mall.

Around 7:30 pm, people gathered again at the Capitol building in downtown Phoenix to express their sadness and anger like many people throughout the country.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Twelve people were arrested and millions of dollars in damage were left after violent protests late Saturday in Scottsdale. At least one attack was also reported.






12 arrested in riots / looting in Scottsdale on Saturday night




According to the Scottsdale Police, hundreds of people protested in Scottsdale in Fashion Square and the surrounding area. Sunday night, the Scottsdale police released the name and age of twelve arrested; with one name withheld because they are under 18 years of age:

Taylor Clemons, 24 years old

Whitney Hannon who is 20 years old

Enrique Espinoza, 23 years old

Muhammad Ali 22 years old

Christian Poineau, 22 years old

Peyton Spence, 24 years old

Lamont Saunders, 22 years old

24-year-old Stephanie Nelson

Sabrin John Kamel Del, 24 years old

Alexander Bligh, 19 years old

Breanna Michelle Akins, 27 years old

Name withheld (17-year-old boy)

“While some may indeed come to join what they believe to be peaceful protests, what is happening is not peaceful, or protest. It is a riot that sees several dozen people collectively damaging property in and near malls, breaking into businesses and pillaging interiors,” said Sergeant. Ben Hoster

Scottsdale was hit by loud protests late Saturday which created a lot of damage to retailers. Sunday morning, people lined up to help volunteers clean up after Fashion Square.

Law enforcement from Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Maricopa County and the Department of Public Security are in the area to help arrest any violator. There are no officers injured.

Investigators continue to assess the damage and have closed Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and Camelback Road from Goldwater Blvd. to Scottsdale Road until further notice.
