The NAB law does not require reform, but removes it all: PML-N | Instant News

LAHORE: Pakistan-Muslim League | N (PML-N) leader and former Chair of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the National Responsibility Bureau did not need reforms but threw them all away.

He spoke at a press conference at the party Secretariat in Lahore, along with PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal, Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Pervaiz Malik and the MNA party from Lahore.

He said PML-N was not in talks with the Pakistani government Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding NAB reform. He said the government gave the wrong impression as if it were in talks with PML-N about the NAB law and the 18th Amendment, which was a total lie. Ayaz said the legal nature of NAB is such that there is no right way to improve it. That needs to be abolished altogether, and new laws must be introduced, he advised.

He said the court needed to be reminded that there were a number of other people in the Panama newspaper who also had to be held accountable by the court. But the money somehow stopped at Nawaz Sharif and the others were easily ignored, he was sorry.

Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal said that when coronavirus surged in the country, [Prime Minister] Imran Khan focused on political victimization led by NAB as if it were a vaccine for the virus.

He said considering the partisan activities, the persecution of the opposition and the protection of corrupt governments, the head of the NAB must formally join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cabinet.

He said the notifications sent to Shahbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah and Balighur Rehman indicated the low level of bowing that had been bent by the head of the NAB as an instrument of PTI’s political victimization. He condemned the imprisonment of the opposition leader of the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz, without any accusations against him.

Ahsan said the government could not devise an effective strategy to combat coronavirus in more than three months and has put people under fatal virus control. The PTI government itself has destroyed Pak’s economic core like a virus.

He said instead of severing ties with India at the time slaughtering Kashmiris, the government made hundreds of millions through imports of life-saving medicines from India.

Khwaja Saad Rafiq condemned Multan NAB’s notification to PML-N leaders and said it was only political victimization. He said after witnessing the consequences of the persecution of PML-N leaders, NAB should learn that no PML-N leader would change his loyalty through such tactics.

If this is an accountability campaign, why isn’t NAB not as alert about sugar and wheat theft fraud, Jabba Night and foreign funding cases, BRT Peshawar and other cases? Saad said the premature lifting of the lockdown when cases in the country surged was a very dangerous move by the government. He said the government should sit down with representatives of the doctor’s organization and reconsider its decision.

Pervaiz Malik said NAB was not only a tool of political victimization but also destroyed institutions that were truly responsible for accountability, such as the media. He condemned the arrest and persecution of Chief Editor Jang / Geo Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman.

Malik said the lifting of restrictions at this time could lead to the total destruction of the health care system in the country.
