KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee will host a virtual film night 31 July, 7 nights
The organization asks people to watch movies from their homes and donate money they will spend in the cinema with tickets and snacks to a food bank to help feed neighbors in need.
As part of the promotion and throughout July, Pizza Plus partnered with Second Harvest to take donations and will match the donations up to $ 10,000. The community can also donate to Second Harvest by going to https://netfoodbank.org, clicking on the COVID-19 response button and pointing funds to “Movie Night.”
“We want to create fun for families while they are still at home during the summer and at the same time help feed our neighbors,” said Executive Director Rhonda Chafin. “We thank Pizza Plus for their partnership with us for July. This donation will feed a number of people who are struggling to keep food on the table in difficult times because of this pandemic. “
