Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that the month of Hajj Zil will be seen today in Karachi.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the minister said the birth of the new moon Zil Haji 1441 had taken place at 10:33 according to Pakistani standard time. He further said the moon would be seen today in Karachi and its suburbs.
He added that when it is cloudy, people can use the ministry’s Ruet application to track the location of the moon.
His statement came before the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting which will take place in Karachi today to see the month for Zil Haji today. The meeting will be chaired by Mufti Chairman Muneebur Rehman.
Chaudhry, who has always called for the Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee to adopt technology, announced last month that Eid Al-Azha will fall on July 31.
