KARACHI: A top official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday confirmed that at least Rs150 million items, including 13 kilograms of gold, as well as US dollars and various other currencies, were found during the raids on the city. .
In a statement following operations carried out in a flat on Shaheed-e-Millat Karachi Road, the director of the Karachi FIA wing, Munir Ahmed Shaikh, said the raid was carried out on indications the suspect had been arrested for several days. then on suspicion of involvement in the Hawala-Hundi transaction. Rs. 1 million in cash, as well as $ 18,000, was also recovered from detainees.
Shaikh added that more than half a kilogram of silver and other currencies, including the US dollar, were also seized in the raids today.
He noted that Hawala-Hundi’s expanding business records were also found on laptops and cellphones recovered from previously arrested suspects.
