LAHORE: A man who killed his wife by hitting him with a hammer was arrested by Wing Lahore Investigation.

Defendant Javed Jutt from Maraka Quarter, Multan Road, hit his wife Komal Shahzadi several times in the head at his home in the Sundar area. Komal was admitted to the hospital where she expired four days after entering.

Defendant Javed Jutt killed his wife because of extramarital relations with many men. On May 5, Javed exchanged hot words with Komal and became angry when he responded the same way instead of accepting his mistakes. He left the room, returned with a hammer and began hitting his head and other body parts. As a result, Komal fainted and the defendant escaped from the scene.

The victim expired at the hospital four days after the incident. Sundar Investigation Police replaced Section 324 PPC with 302 PPC because Komal victims ended on May 10. A special team under the supervision of SP Investigation Conscious Mansoor Qamar was formed to track down the killer.

When contacted, SP Investigation Mansoor Qamar was unable to answer from where the suspect was captured and the murder weapon was tracked. He doesn’t even know the date the police arrested the suspect.

Later, the clerk contacted DIG Inam Waheed who told him that the defendant was arrested from Multan Road on May 20 and the murder weapon was found at his home. He said that during the interrogation, the defendant claimed to have killed his wife on May 5 for honor.

DIG Inam said that the defendant moved from one place to another to avoid being arrested. However, the police managed to find it through sophisticated technology and found a murder weapon that was hidden in his home. The defendant is still in physical custody until June 1, he added.

LAHORE: The accountability court on Wednesday extended the detention of the former LDA court directorate general Sunday Cheema to May 14 in assets outside the case.

Prison authorities did not produce Cheema in court because of the coronavirus protocol. The court extended the judicial detention of the accused and adjourned the trial on May 14. Previously, the court had accused Cheema in the reference and so far seven witnesses had recorded their statements.

According to the NAB, Sunday Cheema made a property worth billions of rupees on behalf of his family members. It said the suspect and his family members owned more than 300 canals of farmland in Hafizabad, more than 190 canals in Lahore, a flat in Hill View, Islamabad, two plots in the FIA ​​Employee Cooperative Housing Community, Islamabad, two flats and a plot in the Federal Employee Housing Foundation Government, Islamabad, 10-marla plot in Faisal City, Islamabad, two five-marla plots in Faisal Residencia Islamabad and a three-channel plot on Bedian Road, Lahore.

In addition, NAB has also submitted references to Cheema and five others for their alleged role in the Ashiana Housing Scheme fraud. The other five are Bismillah Engineering Company owner Shahid Shafiq, LDA chief engineer Israr Saeed, retired chief engineer of the Punjab Land Development Company (PLDC) retired Kol Arif Majeed, former PLDC chief executive Imtiaz Haider and PLDC official Bilal Kidwai.
