American Pickle to Premiere on HBO Max | Instant News

Seth RogenNew film has found a home on HBO Max. Upcoming projects, American Pickles, will debut on streaming this year instead of the originally planned theater release, although HBO Max has not yet announced a date.

Rogen’s latest film was supposed to be premiered under Sony Pictures, but was acquired by HBO Max in an effort to maintain a release date this year and avoid the impact of closing the national theater due to coronavirus, WarnerMedia announced in a press release today. American Pickles will now be released via HBO Max under the Warner Max label.

The upcoming film is an adaptation of the 2013 New Yorker series Sold out created by Simon Rich, who writes the script and is an executive producer. Rogen plays two main roles in American pickles, who followed Herschel Greenbaum, an immigrant (Rogen) who fell into a pickle barrel in the factory where he worked and woke up 100 years later in modern times, perfectly preserved from salt water. He found himself in Brooklyn with his living relative, Ben Greenbaum, his great-grandson (Rogen) who worked as a computer code maker. With broad generational differences, the two have difficulty connecting.

“I couldn’t be more happy to partner with HBO Max to release this film,” Rogen said in a press release today. “We worked very hard and placed ourselves as much as possible in this story. We are very proud of the end result and we can’t wait for people to see it. “

American Pickles produced by Point Gray Pictures, a production company founded by Rogen Evan Goldberg (the duo took us Very bad back in 2007). Brandon Trost, Rogen cinematographer for previous films like This is the end and Interview, directed the film. American Pickles also a star Succession Sarah Snook and Jorma Taccone (The Lonely Island).
