There is no corrupt element to escape accountability: Shahbaz Gill
ISLAMABAD (APP): Special Assistant to PM for Political Communication, Dr. Shahbaz Gill said on Friday that the Government under PM Imran Khan’s vision has strong faith in anti-corruption efforts to recover wealth plundered by the state because nothing exceeds the law.
He criticized PML-N and PPP leaders that the two party leaders had looted the country one after another, adding that his government would not offer the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to politicians like former president Asif Ali Zardari and prime minister Nawaz Sharif had accused. in cases of corruption but if they return the “stolen money” under the plea bargain.
He said, “The State of Medina is based solely on two principles, first ‘the rule of law’ and second, ‘the decent welfare of the people.”
He emphasized that only a legal system that is equal for all citizens and a system of punishment and retribution for corruptors can improve the current system.
In response to a question about Shairf’s shahbaz, he said Shahbaz is only providing guarantees on a technical basis but there will be no agreement or relaxation (rules) for Nawaz and Shahbaz’s family.
He reiterated that the courts were completely free and independent, adding that we all need to respect his decisions.
He said the government would not allow anyone to challenge a government warrant and disrespect state institutions.
In another Question about Jahangir Tareen, he said “Prime Minister Imran Khan is a man of principles and he will never compromise his firm belief in the accountability process across the board, whether there are members of his own party or leaders of the opposition.”
“There is no favoritism in this and Tareen will be prosecuted according to the law,” he added.
