Take flight and discover some trendy fashions while supporting a noble cause.
The Stork Fund’s Fashion Economy event will be held October 22 to 24 at the lower level opposite Auntie Anne at The Galleria, 500 Galleria Drive, Richland Township.
It will feature men’s and women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags and home supplies.
The Stork Fund, formed in 2019 with the aim of providing financial support to those who wish to become parents through fertility care, adoption and surrogacy, was created under the umbrella of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies and is open to anyone in the Cambria and Somerset region who fulfills criteria.
“Last year we had a very successful event called Dresses, Drinks and Divas, but because of everything that happened this year, we couldn’t, so we tried to think of other ways we could raise funds and also placeholders for fashion events We really like it, ”said Olivia Bragdon, founder of the Stork Fund.
“Everyone in quarantine was cleaning their closets, so we decided to take advantage of it and do a fashion show.”
The event kicks off with two sessions from 5 to 6:30 and 6:30 to 8 pm on October 22 with a first look reception.
Each session can accommodate up to 25 people, and costs $ 45 and includes a shopping bag to fill with shop goods along with hors d’oeuvres, wine and goods.
“You will be among the first to shop for a sale,” said Bragdon.
Additional time will be from noon to 8pm on 23 October and 10am to 8pm on 24 October.
The shopping bag will sell for $ 25 and can be loaded with items.
“Some luxury items, such as designer bags, will be priced separately, but they won’t be wasteful,” Bragdon said.
The proceeds will benefit the Crane Fund.
“We recently distributed $ 6,000 to two needy families, so we need to return the funds because we have several couples waiting,” Bragdon said.
“We hope we will raise a few thousand dollars. Last year we raised $ 5,000 in Dresses, Drinks and Divas and I hope we can do the same with this event. “
Donations of used goods are being received. Those interested in donating can send a message to the Stork Fund Facebook page or email [email protected] to set the drop off location or pick up time.
Advanced tickets are available for purchase under the Events tab on the Stork Fund Facebook page.
Those who donate goods or make monetary donations and purchase shopping bags will be entered to win a $ 100 Stryking Boutique gift card and a handbag.
This event is sponsored by Atlantic Broadband and Craft Modern Kitchen.
