The protests ended with a speech by local right-wing politicians from the Swiss People’s Party.

The demonstrations are the latest in a series of public protests across the country in recent months.

Meanwhile, police in Zurich said they broke up several public gatherings in the building and outside in Switzerland’s largest city on Friday evening.

About 100 people were fined for violating anti-Covid rules. Gatherings of up to 15 people outside and five people inside are currently allowed in Switzerland.

Pakistan- The problem of ‘kidnapping’ Landikotal carriers in Karachi is taking a new turn | Instant News

(MENAFN – Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The issue of the alleged kidnapping of a transporter from Landikotal, Khyber tribal district, in Karachi, has taken a new turn because now rivals claim he was arrested for not paying dues.

A well-known transporter from Landikotal Haji Aleem Khan had issued a statement to the media a few days ago that his son Ibrahim Afridi had been kidnapped from Karachi. He alleged that the kidnappers were wearing police uniforms and that he was kidnapped for ransom. He said the police did not submit a first information report (FIR) on the incident.

Family sources claim that Ibrahim Afridi, who has been linked with a transportation business in Karachi for the past few years, received threatening phone calls about extortion and that he had also reported the threat to the police. They say gunmen in police uniforms kidnapped Ibrahim Afridi in broad daylight.

After surfacing in the media, Haji Aleem Khan’s rivals, the Mengal brothers, claimed they had a monetary dispute with Ibrahim Afridi that involved tens of millions of rupees. They claim that the police arrested Ibrahim Afridi for their complaint.

Muhammad Hassan Afridi, a representative for the Mengal brothers, told the media that Ibrahim Afridi was facing charges of stealing millions of rupees worth of oil and a trailer. He claimed that the FIR had been filed against Ibrahim Afridi with evidence supporting the charges. He said the Mengal brothers are peaceful businessmen and they have the right to adopt legal avenues in case of financial disputes.

Hassan Afridi claims that Ibrahim Afridi’s men picked up the Mengal brothers’ vehicle from Landikotal in broad daylight and also behaved badly with the workers. He said the vehicle was still missing. He accused rivals of selling three of his company’s oil tankers for their loss of Rs22.5 million.

Hassan Afridi said former Al-Haaj senator Taj Muhammad Afridi, who is a prominent businessman, tried to arrange a patch between the two competing groups by holding a Jirga. He claims that his rival group fled the Jirga and started to engage in negative tactics. He said all of the rival allegations of kidnapping were baseless. He said the law course was adopted after the failure of the talk options.
