PESHAWAR: A woman from Kohat has raised serious allegations of sexual harassment against Chief Minister Advisor Ziaullah Bangash. In a video that went viral on social media, the woman asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to pay attention to the abuse. The woman also signaled to leave Kohat due to strong pressure from CM Advisors.
However, the Chief Advisor to the Information Technology Minister and Member of the Provincial Assembly from Kohat Ziaullah Bangash denied the women’s accusations and called them lies. Ziaullah Bangash has sent the woman a legal notification of the video’s release. In the video, a woman named Rahatul Ain made serious accusations against Ziaullah Bangash that cannot be written down.
According to the official report sent to the provincial government, a copy is available with this clerk saying Rahat ul Ain’s wife of the residence of Muhammad Ishafaq of the Hayat Shaheed Colony, Muhammad Riaz Shaheed, Kohat had alleged in her video that Ziaullah Bangash MPA Kohat had abused him and one Ubaid ( the owner of the car rental center, Kohat) did not return the money (Rs4,40,000) to him which he had given him for business.
The report further revealed that the woman worked with Ziaullah Bangash at an NGO about ten years ago and the two were related, but after being elected to MPA in 2013, Ziaullah Bangash avoided the woman.
Ziaullah Bangash also promised to give him a government job but the woman couldn’t find any work. Since then the woman has been active against Ziaullah Bangash on Social Media. It was reported that Ziaullah Bangash has never signed a marriage contract with him or has not been in contact with the woman since the 2013 elections. Ziaullah Bangash has also been silent over the women’s statements on Social Media.
In addition, the woman has also had a dispute over money with Ubaid (the owner of the rental car) and she has made a report to the local police station where an agreement has been made by the owner of the rental car to return the money. However, the allegations of abuse could not be verified during the initial investigation.
Ziaullah Bangash, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Information Technology, sent a legal notice to the woman on January 11, 2021, stating that she belongs to a respectable and honorable family.
The notice issued by the lawyer further said that Ziaullah Bangash did not even know the woman and had no relationship with her. The woman also posted a video on social media during the 2018 elections bringing the shame of my client, while in the DPO Kohat investigation my client was proven innocent.
You once again uploaded a baseless video on January 9th, which seriously damaged my client’s reputation. My client doesn’t even know Obaid and has nothing to do with him.
Your sole aim is to discredit my clients in society and damage my client’s reputation. Your actions brought disgrace to my client and she was suffering from great grief and mental stress. Therefore, you are notified by means of this notice that you must pay 50 million in defamation to my client within seven days and deny your allegations by apologizing in writing and in a video message from your social media accounts. If not, a claim will be filed against you in court.
