ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released Tuesday a breakdown of the assets and liabilities of National Assembly Members, some of whom are billionaires who also own property abroad.

PML-N’s Ehsan ul Haq Bajwa is the richest member of parliament in the National Assembly with assets of more than Rs5,4643 billion, including assets worth Rs4,5835 billion overseas. He owns a house worth Rs440.8 million.

Maulvi Ismatullah from Quetta with assets worth Rs1.1 million is the poorest foreigner. Mian Shahbaz Sharif has acquired Rs14.7 million worth of non-agricultural land in Pakistan while hundreds of land canals were touted as a reward.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is the owner of assets worth more than Rs80 million but he has no business at home or abroad. He doesn’t have a private car. He has 331,230 US dollars and 518 pounds in his four offshore accounts.

Imran Khan has more than 199 million rupees in cash, and four goats for 2 lakh rupees. He has also taken a down payment of more than Rs70 million in exchange for 80 land canals in Ferozewala. Shahbaz Sharif has disclosed assets worth more than Rs137.8 million in UK and Rs63.9 million in his bank accounts. The value of all these assets is Rs240.74 million. Noor Alam MNA has assets worth Rs3 billion.

Federal Minister Faisal Vawda owns five properties overseas, three properties worth millions of rupees in Pakistan, Rs 2.8 million in cash, a bank of Rs 4.8 million and a car. He also has 40 tola gold.

Federal Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed owns 7 properties worth Rs418 million in Pakistan. He has Rs3.4 million in his bank account and has made fixed deposits of Rs91.7 million. Federal Minister Ijaz Shah owns 5 properties in Pakistan. His wife has 76 tola gold.

Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar owns inherited property in Pakistan and has invested Rs20 million.

National Assembly chairman Asad Qaiser has more than Rs80 million and is in debt more than Rs12.6 million.

Federal Energy Minister Omar Ayub Khan has assets worth more than Rs1.21 billion, while he has borrowed Rs2 crore. Defense Minister Pervez Khattak has assets worth more than Rs150 million. She owes her mother-in-law Rs2.5 crore. Abdul Qadir Patel has assets worth more than Rs59.6 million, while Naveed Qamar has assets worth more than Rs65 million.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari has announced assets worth Rs766.88 or more than Rs2 crore in relation to banks, house construction and other loans. Asad Mehmood, who is the son of JUI-F chairman Fazlur Rehman, has shown more than Rs8 lakh on his account. He owns Rs40 lakh worth of farmland and does not own a private vehicle.

He has shown an investment of only Rs10,000 and has a worth of Rs2.4 million cars and 15 tola gold and over Rs500,000 in the bank. He has no business at home or abroad.

Khurram Dastgir has demonstrated the business is worth more than Rs1.29 million. He has shown a car worth Rs2.2 million and has more than Rs9.00000 in his bank account.
