Major parties speak out: PPP stops PDM posts | Instant News

KARACHI / LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced that his party will resign from all offices of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in protest of unfair treatment and issuance of a rationale notification for the PPP.

He made this announcement while briefing the media on decisions taken by the PPP’s Central Executive Committee, whose two-day meeting closes on Monday. The PPP chairman was accompanied by party officials at the press conference.

“Our version yesterday is the same as now; withdrawal (from the assembly) is an atomic bomb and should be treated like a weapon as a last resort. “Whoever wants to resign must resign but he must not dictate to any other party,” Bilawal said.

He said politics was carried out for the sake of honor and equality and he asked the PDM to apologize to PPP and the Awami National Party for the unfair treatment. He said they would not leave ANP alone because they stood with a party that was alienated from the PDM.

He said there was no precedent for issuing notices showing reasons in previous moves carried out in the country by an alliance of Opposition political parties. He recalled that previously no cause notification had been issued when the PDM action plan was not followed up.

The PPP chairman said no cause notification was issued when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been given the opportunity to secure five Senate seats from Punjab. He clarified that the ruling PTI would win if they boycotted the by-election on the advice of several other parties.

Opposition politics against the opposition is unacceptable and the CEC party promised that the PTI regime would not be allowed to sit comfortably, he added.

He said the CEC had rejected notification of the reasons for the PDM performance and had decided to resign from all PDM positions in protest against the inappropriate behavior, procedures and attitudes of some alliance administrators.

“We will not back down from our struggle, we will support ANP, and will make all decisions in consultation. Our doors are open to any party who opposes the PTI regime, “he added. He said previously the common cause of the Opposition had been detrimental because the long march against the current government had too much to do with resigning (from parliament).

“The opposition is unacceptable,” he said. “The PMLN has to decide whether to oppose the elected Imran Khan and the formation or against the PPP.”

Bilawal pointed out that the PMLN was also trying to wrest from the PPP the right to secure the position of the opposition leader in Gilgit-Baltistan.

He said the PPP had opposed the anti-people agreement of the “PTIMF” (between the PTI government and the IMF) from day one because details of the agreement between the PTI government and the IMF had not yet been in front of the DPR or made public.

He said the deal was hurting the Pakistani people and the economy as a whole. “This move will be a burden on Pakistan’s poor people. We strongly condemn and our party demands that the PTI regime withdraw from this move. This agreement is not in the interest of Pakistan which endangers its sovereignty and causes skyrocketing inflation through rising prices for electricity and gas,” he added.

Speaking about the Kashmir issue discussed at the CEC, Bilawal said that the PPP and the Kashmiri people have a relationship that spans more than three generations because his party has never compromised on the Kashmir issue or will do so in the future.

“The prime minister-elect prayed for Modi’s victory despite knowing that changing the status of Kashmir ruled (India’s Jammu and Illegally Occupied Kashmir) was part of the BJP’s manifesto. When Modi changed the status of the valley under control, the incompetent PM said what he could do, ”said the PPP chairman.

He further said that Parliament does not believe in Kashmir policy nor is it informed whether there will be trade with India or not.

“Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto once said that Kashmir was a problem which he could not do even in his sleep. But there is one Imran Khan, who has done nothing but wrong in this matter, “he said, adding that” the people of Pakistan and Kashmir cannot afford an incompetent prime minister and the only way to get back on the right track on the Kashmir issue. is to overthrow Imran Khan ”.

Bilawal said that the CEC had urged the federal government to ensure the supply of vaccines to citizens for coronavirus prevention and also rejected the possibility of amendments to the Pakistani Penal Code to take action against criticism of the armed forces.

The CEC also expressed concern over the issue of hidden cameras in polling stations during the Senate elections and described this action as rigging the Senate elections.

Talking about the census, Bilawal said that the PPP had raised its objections and concerns since 2017. In order to avoid postponing the election and hindering the democratic process, the census results were accepted temporarily on the condition that five percent of the census results would be reviewed later. Holding a fair and transparent census is just as important as fair and transparent elections, he said, adding that PPP demands a clean and transparent census and the matter will be brought up in joint parliamentary sessions.

Meanwhile, PMLN Central Vice President Maryam Nawaz said in Lahore that Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chairman of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), would make a decision on the PPP’s reaction to the cause notification.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Maryam said the decision to issue a reason notification for the PPP was taken unanimously by the PDM and not by a single party.

He said the eight parties in the PDM were united and committed to their cause. “The struggle of the anti-government Opposition coalition started to correct Pakistan’s direction and to get rid of the current elected government,” he said.

Now it is up to the discretion of PDM chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman how he responds to the PPP’s reaction at the event, he said, adding that “we will sit on the PDM and decide what to do about it”.

Speaking of PMLN candidate Nosheen Iftikhar’s victory in the NA-75 Daska poll, he said the PMLN was competing with a state machine. “The Daska by-election win isn’t just a one-seat win; The victory of Nawaz Sharif’s narrative is what will bring big changes to the upcoming elections, ”said Maryam.

He said the PTI candidate and its leaders and employees could not win despite committing fraud in February this year and efforts were made to suppress and eliminate PMLN.

He said the Daska victory shows that people have accepted Nawaz Sharif’s narrative and this narrative trumps the PTI in power even though he is in London.

He said the PTI candidate went to the Supreme Court but ended up facing an humiliating defeat on the ground at the hands of the Daska community. Maryam also said that repeated attempts were made to dissolve the party but failed to defeat the lion Nawaz Sharif. He said PMLN was one and would remain intact.

Answering a question about Jahangir Khan Tareen, Maryam said she didn’t want to say anything about the matter. He, however, said there were lessons to be learned from what happened to him. “They use the plane when they need it,” he said. “At that time, he (Tareen) was not part of the sugar mafia.”

Speaking about the National Accountability Bureau, Maryam said the NAB had become a political engineering institution and the government was using it to suppress the Opposition.

“There is no doubt that the NAB is a political retaliation institution and that is why they plan to arrest me on the long march,” he accused. “The PMLN is standing in front of Imran Khan in full force,” he said.

Maryam further said that the PTI MNA and MPA were suffering from disintegration and Imran Khan’s own people spoke out against it. Answering a question, Maryam said she would soon go to Karachi to tell the people what this government did to them. He said, if PMLN succeeded from Karachi, it would improve people’s lives. “Karachi must be developed by making it a cradle of peace. Succeed Miftah Ismail if Pakistan wants to be prosperous and progressive, ”he said.

Among other things, they wrote that young people should not face discrimination if lenient measures benefit those already vaccinated. For young people with mental health problems, there must also be sufficient support.

In addition, they suggest reintroducing face-to-face teaching immediately, saying this should be possible with rigorous testing strategies and appropriate protection concepts.

‘Our generation is in dire need of prospects again,’ said the letter, noting that a growing number of young people felt misunderstood, and the increasing number of young people with serious psychological problems was of great concern.

The impetus for the letter was a riot Friday night in St. Gallen, in which young men attacked police officers with bottles, firecrackers and Molotov cocktails. Police responded with rubber bullets and tear gas. Two people were injured, and the police temporarily evicted more than 500 people from the city.
