The Motorola Razr got the successor, the others folded from the company. Moto Razr 2019 was re-launched in November for mixed reviews. Now it seems the company is working on a second generation Razr phone that can be folded. Thibault Dousson, Lenovo’s general manager in South Africa – Motorola’s parent company – recently used a podcast in which he said that a new generation of folding phones would come later this year. Then in their conversation, a reference to the “second generation” folding telephone was made again.
During Podcast Technology that is refrained on May 20 with Lenovo South Africa’s general manager Thibault Dousson, the master of ceremonies talking about how Motorola Razr (2019) opened for mixed reviews, became the first folding phone from the company and experienced “unexpected problems”. Dousson said around the 18 minute mark, “There is a new generation coming out … there is one in September I think.”
Then on the podcast (about 42 minutes), Dousson again mentions Razr “second generation”. The 360 gadget has reached Motorola for more information and will update this space when and when we receive a response.
Motorola Razr (2019) garnered a lot of attention at launch because of its unique design and nostalgic factor. However, due to mid-level specifications, screen / design issues, and very high prices, it received mixed reviews, at best. After being launched globally in November, call it launched in India in March for Rs. 1.24,999 and finally went on sale earlier this month.
