SIALKOT: Usman Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs, said Sunday that the government will begin development projects in Sialkot, on behalf of who would be the largest contributors. Addressing a press conference here at Anwar Club, he said the government was making hectic efforts to facilitate taxpayers.
He said that the top ten taxpayers would be selected in their constituency (NA-73, Sialkot-II) and that the government would assign them local parks, roads and water filtration plants.
Usman Dar said that the people of Sialkot pay Rs 12 billion of taxes annually. He said the government would soon establish the Sialkot Development Authority for the elevation and beautification of the city. He said the Prime Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, would soon inaugurate the Sialkot Development Authority (SDA).
He said the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Pathology Laboratory were also established at the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital.
The SAPM said the government had approved the 250-bed hospital project adjacent to the Govt Allama Iqbal Sialkot Memorial Teaching Hospital. He said construction work on the project would begin very soon.
Usman Dar said the government was making hectic efforts to ensure advanced medical and health facilities for people locally. He said that all obstacles were being removed to ensure the early provision of better and more advanced medical coverage for people.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister of Special Education, Punjab Ch Muhammad Ikhlaq, said the Punjab government had released development funds to complete the overpass project in Shahabpura, which had been incomplete during the past year.
He said the PTI government was eliminating the three-decade political deprivations of the people of Sialkot by launching several public and socio-economic welfare projects in the city. Ch Ikhlaq said the “One Man” policy was over now. President of Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) Nadeem Anwar Qureshi, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sialkot (SCCI) Malik Muhammad Ashraf, President of the airline Air Sial Fazal Jilani, President of Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) Naveed Iqbal Sheikh, President of the District Bar Association (DBA) Syed Najam Gillani, Principal Director.
Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot Prof. Dr. Tariq Mehmood Rehan, President Markazi Anjuman Tajraan Sialkot Mehar Ghulam Mujtaba, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir, District Police Officer (DPO) Capt. (Rtd) Mustansar Feroz, central leader of PTI Umer Dar and others were also present at the occasion.
