“It’s a big moment for all of us. What’s happening in Adelaide, how we come back from Melbourne onwards is great to see. Everybody is putting in their effort, everyone contributes, it’s not about one or two individuals. I just want to do it. Name it. Just Kuldeep Yadav and Kartik Tyagi, “said Rahane in the dressing room whose video BCCI uploaded on social media, Saturday.
Rahane said Kuldeep’s time would come, suggesting that the left wrist spinner might play against England.
“Kuldeep, I know it’s tough for you, you don’t play the game here but your attitude is very good. Your time will come, keep working hard. Your Kartik is amazing, “added Rahane.
Kuldeep traveled to Australia as a third spinner behind R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja but even after injuries to both, India opted to go with the versatile Washington Sundar and four tailors – two of whom were debutants – at the Sydney Test.
With Jadeja now absent from the first two home Tests against England, Kuldeep may only find a place as a second spinner alongside Ashwin. The fact that the first two Tests are in Chennai, a place known for helping spinners, may come to his advantage when the India vs England series starts from February 5.
