The Indian team currently does not have a complete fielder: Mohd Kaif | Cricket News | Instant News

DELHI BARU: The Indian team currently has a good fielder but none of them are “complete package” like Yuvraj Singh and he himself, considers Mohammed Kaif.

The hero of the victory of Natwest India played more than 100 ODI, mainly because of his extraordinary abilities. Leader field the skill of extending his career even when the shape of his punch steadily decreases.

Asked about his opinions on the Indian field compared to the times when Yuvraj Singh took the lead and he would stand on the additional cover, Kaif outlined shortcomings in the current arrangement.

“To be a complete package, you have to be a good catcher, you have to be able to hit the stump often, you have to be able to run fast, you have to have the right technique to grab a moving ball,” Kaif said on YouTube’s ‘SportScreen’ channel

“When we played, I and Yuvraj made our mark as a good pitch player. Today, you will find many good field players in the Indian team, but I don’t think anyone has a complete package as a midfielder.

“Someone who can catch slips, who can catch with short legs, can hit the old limits by running fast … packages that I think are lost,” said Kaif, who is always praised as one of India’s best fielders.

39 years old said that Ravindra Jadeja get better with age but Indian catch slips are still much to be desired.

“Ravindra Jadeja is a good midfielder, even as he added in those years, the pitch is also improving. But the Indian pitch is not right for scratching.”

In the debate between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in white ball cricket, Kaif said that if he had to choose between the two if they played for a different team, he would prefer watching Mumbaikar in style.

“If there are two matches taking place in the same city simultaneously and Virat is playing in one and Rohit in the other, then I will go to the match that features Rohit Sharma.

“There is no doubt, Virat has an extraordinary record in Tests and both white ball cricket, but Rohit has elegance, so much time facing bowlers. He is one of the batsmen who can destroy bowlers without bowlers even realizing that he is under attack.”
