PUBG Corporation cancels 2020 PUBG Global Series because of coronavirus, introducing Continental Series | Instant News

That PUBG The Corporation, which was one of the first companies to push dates for its global tournament series, is now making further preventive measures.

2020 PUBG The Global Series has been officially canceled, with all the standings and other metrics likely to be removed for the new start of next season. However, that is not the end PUBG esports for this year.

In place of the three canceled PGS events and eventual championship events, PUBG Corp is introducing a new multi-regional online competition called PUBG Continent Series. It will focus more on regional battles between the top teams in the world in four main regions: Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.

Prizes totaling $ 2.4 million will be shared equally across the four regions, with one major tournament starting in May.

In May, PCS Charity Showdown will have top teams in each playing area for $ 100,000, with an additional $ 100,000 donated to the winning team’s charity, with a total prize pool of $ 800,000 in all regions. There is no concrete date yet, but more information will be available in the coming weeks.

As for the main event, PCS events will be held in all regions throughout June and August, with a collection of $ 200,000 prizes allocated to each regional Major. Viewers can also play the Pick’Em Challenge as is the case with PGS.

All 21 teams that qualify for PGS Berlin, the first major major season, will be compensated with $ 20,000 for the time spent by those who qualify for the tournament that is now canceled. Other teams that play qualifiers or are postponed will also be compensated later on.

More details about the tournament schedule and arrangement for PUBG esports in 2020 will be announced in the near future.
