Asus 6Z, the company’s flagship phone, was launched in India with an innovative motorized camera in May last year. Asus 6Z, or Asus Zenfone 6, as it is known in other markets, received an Android 10 update in November last year. Now, this phone is receiving the latest software update with firmware version 17.1810.2003.144 which brings a March security patch for Android as well as Wi-Fi Jio (VoWiFi) call support in India. The update was launched over-the-air (OTA) and can also be downloaded manually from the Asus Zentalk forum.
New update for Asus 6Z, in addition to bringing a March security patch and Reliance Jio’s Wi-Fi call, also added a confirmation pop-up dialog every time a third-party application running in the background requested access to the front camera. In addition, the Asus 6Z update also optimizes system stability, according to changelog, which also mentions VoWiFi for operators in Sweden.
